Head of Digital Workplace & Roof Services

Job Description:

Airbus started its Digital journey with the objective being to transform the company and to prepare it for the future. This transformation includes new global governance, new ways of working and the implementation of digital business services and platforms. As a part of this transformation journey we have set up a Digital center in Bangalore. This state of the art centre is responsible for driving excellence in IT for Airbus. Currently Airbus India is looking for a Head of Digital Workplace & Roof Services, to join the Bangalore, India location.

Head of Digital Workplace & Roof Services, will be part of the Digital (D) function and is responsible for the day to day innovation, build & operation of the Global Digital Workplace & Roof Services Team located in INDIA. As the head of Digital Workplace, the incumbent will be responsible for the operational management of deliverables in the DW India scope of operations such as delivery of work in India, budget, supplier management, risk/issue management and change control support, while maintaining export compliances. As the Head of Roof Services, the focus would lie in designing, communicating & implementing Digital strategies for India & South Asia, ensuring alignment with international Digital strategy and regional growth strategies aiming to secure the market position of Airbus by anticipating technological trends and change of demands from customers.

The person will be the key link between the DW & DGI team in Europe and the IIDW & IIDR teams in India making sure that work scope in India is in sync with the strategy of both organizations.

Reporting Structure

The job holder will report directly to HO Digital India & South Asia and functionally to HO DW and HO DGI respectively. In order to ensure global reporting and compliance, the IIDW and IIDR teams will be managed separately by the job holder.

The successful candidate shall establish team goals by evaluating, identifying & understanding the business strategy and technical trends as well. He/she shall accomplish the team results/performance by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, coaching and leading the team in the right direction.

Responsibilities:

• Hold the full responsibility to lead India Digital Workplace & Roof Services teams in right direction to achieve the success and develop team members
  
• Managing co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged globally in projects
  
• Manage global communications and alignment with widely spread global stakeholders
  
• Take the accountability of developing and maintaining a detailed product strategy in line with the Digital Workplace domain strategy and ensuring projects are delivered on time, cost and quality.
  
• Secure Digital Workplace products managed in India deliver on time, on cost and quality fulfilling overall domain expectations
  
• Provide an enterprise perspective when identifying and addressing business needs
  
• Manage project scope, change control and handling escalations, addressing risks where necessary
  
• Manage resource capabilities and assignment (Airbus India internal resources and In situ Supplier)
  
• Overall Cost /budget Estimation and control
  
• Liaises with, and updates progress to, project board/senior management
  
• Export Control Compliance
  
• Represent Digital and promote its vision, value, services and capabilities as well as identifying room for improvement in the India & South Asia region proactively.
  

Qualification & Experience

Graduate/Post Graduate with 15+ years of experience in developing, delivering software services and applications in a global environment

• You are an inspirational leader, ensuring maximum staff engagement to fulfil the department’s ambitions to serve and drive the Airbus vision
  
• Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders and to work closely and effectively with people at all levels in the company
  
• Sound written and verbal communication skills, including delivery of presentations on behalf of the company to external stakeholders with strong commercial acumen & analytical skills.
  
• You are capable of empathy and foster the speak-up atmosphere with your team
  
• You are a good team player, who likes working in a collaborative environment, especially amongst your peers.
  
• You show the capability to listen to other opinions and views.
  
• You possess “negotiation level” language proficiency in English.
  
  • Other:
    
• Knowledge of Aerospace domain
  
• Knowledge and in depth understanding of Digital Workplace applications and practices like SNOW, app catalogue, virtualization, data visualisation, analytics and interpretation, digital security, Product structures, development practices etc.
  
• Knowledge on Agile/ SAFe principle and Service Management best practices
  
• Quality management System awareness
