Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Head of Aftermarket Supply Chain & Quality (f/m) to join our Customer Services Department based in Toulouse, France.

You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, capability, and continuous improvement of the supplier network that supports all Customer Services Support & Services activities.

This role achieves operational readiness by:
• Developing Suppliers: Focusing on evolving suppliers to meet OEM standards for quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Strategic Alignment: Contributing to the company's Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
• Digital Leadership: Leading the deployment and optimization of supplier management tools and digital platforms to enhance visibility, planning accuracy & performance governance

You will manage the execution of the global footprint evolution around 80 FTE in Core countries & the Regions

  • Subordinate employees:
    • Direct: ~ FTE active work force FTE in core Countries +7 FTE in regions ( subject to growth in line with regionalisation strategy
    • Indirect (functional): equivalent of approx 10 FTE ( subcontracting )
  • Other dimensions relevant to the position:
    • Stakeholder management
    • Internal :Strong interactions with each Customer Services Business lines at all levels of seniority, Procurement Supply chain commodities ( PIx)
    • External : Customer Services Suppliers (1152 Suppliers sites) & Airlines (400)

Your challenges:

Supplier Development & Capability Building:

  • Evaluate Supplier Performance: Assess supplier capabilities & maturity against Customer Service requirements across key metrics (quality, lead time, repair Turnaround Time/TAT, and logistics performance).
  • Drive Improvement Plans: Define and deploy targeted supplier development plans to boost performance, capacity, and compliance.
  • Manage Onboarding & Industrialization: Support the successful onboarding of new suppliers and manage the industrialization phase for both existing in-service products and new program entries into service.
  • Lead Quality Initiatives: Lead supplier audits, assessments, and improvement projects using Lean problem-solving methodologies.
  • Achieve "Preferred Status": Drive consistent supplier performance improvement to ensure they attain "preferred supplier" status.


Tools, Systems & Digitalization:

  • Tool Management and Optimization: Manage and optimize the suite of tools used for supplier management, including supplier portals and digital collaboration platforms.
  • Data Integrity and Governance: Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all critical systems (ERP, S&OP tools, and supplier scorecards).
  • Digital Transformation: Lead the digitalization of supplier monitoring and reporting processes, focusing on automation and predictive analytics.
  • User Enablement and Training: Train both internal & supplier stakeholders on the effective use of performance management & collaboration tools.
  • System Ownership: Act as the key user or process owner for all supplier-related IT systems within Customer Services (e.g., AirSupply).


Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Integration

  • Lead S&OP Integration: Actively participate in the Customer Services Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle to strategically align supplier capacity and material availability with forecasted demand.
  • Translate Demand: Translate service demand signals (for spares, repairs, and retrofit kits) into concrete supplier capability and capacity plans.
  • Support S&OP Governance: Provide support for demand planning, risk assessment, and scenario analysis during S&OP meetings.
  • Secure Supplier Commitment: Ensure that supplier input and contractual commitments are fully integrated into our overall supply plans & final customer delivery commitments.
  • Ensure Synchronization: Coordinate efforts with Planning, Procurement, and Repair Management to ensure synchronization between market forecasts and supplier readiness.


Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives with our suppliers to directly enhance delivery reliability, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Supplier Partnership: Foster a strong culture of partnership and operational excellence across the entire supply base.
  • Cross-Functional Cohesion: Collaborate closely with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Customer Programs teams to ensure seamless end-to-end process coherence.
  • Transformation Support: Actively contribute to Customer Services' strategic transformation and digitalization initiatives.
    Outputs


Your boarding pass:

  • 7-10 years of experience in aerospace, industrial, or high-tech supply chain environments.
  • Proven experience in supplier development, supplier performance, or supplier quality roles.
  • Exposure to customer services or aftermarket operations (spares, repairs, MRO, logistics).
  • Experience with S&OP processes and digital performance management tools.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of aerospace supplier networks, repair supply chains, and OEM-customer-supplier dynamics.
  • Proficiency in ERP and Sales & Operations systems (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis, Anaplan) and supplier portals.
  • Analytical skills with ability to interpret performance data and drive actions.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to lead improvement projects with cross-functional & international teams.
