An opportunity for a Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).
The selected candidate will join the Flight Tests Instrumentation Architecture & Equipment Team, whose mission is to provide flight test means to gather critical data from aircraft test objects for further evaluation. Our capabilities span special onboard systems, rapid troubleshooting, sensors and metrology, data acquisition, telemetry, and onboard manufacturing.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team responsible for the full life cycle of Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) installations for the Airbus Derivatives (MRTT) Program-from conception and equipment integration to final deployment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and define Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) installations onboard Flight Test Aircraft for the MRTT program, analyzing requirements to specify and provide complete FTI systems (hardware, software, and digital systems).
- Prepare and document technical FTI documentation for Aircraft Installation Design Offices and FTI Laboratory Facilities in compliance with quality, cost, and time standards.
- Coordinate and manage end-to-end FTI activities with key stakeholders, including budget, export control, stock, spare parts, and Verification & Validation (V&V) tasks.
- Support in-service operations by investigating and solving technical anomalies, ensuring smooth operations throughout the development phase.
- Evaluate and implement Make or Buy processes alongside new instrumentation technologies to meet future project demands.
