From the earliest study activities to the subsystem manufacturing, to the assembly and test, to in-orbit operations, the whole spacecraft lifecycle is managed from SSTL’s Guildford, Surrey headquarters.

We are currently looking for a technician to join our growing team.

Role requirements

Primary role will be working in Flight Assembly, working on general building of boards and modules, harness, mechanisms and solar panels.

• Working in a cleanroom environment

• Working to ESA standard

• Working to build instructions and drawings

• A high level of electro-mechanical build

• Building of wire harnesses and test boxes

• Other activities as delegated

Qualifications Knowledge & Skills

• Experience within a cleanroom environment

• ESA certification Required.

• A good knowledge in soldering practices, and intricate electro- mechanical build practices.

• Practical, hands-on ability

• Good general computing skills (word processing and basic spreadsheets) Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

• Strong and clear communication skills

• Commitment to take own initiative

• Desire to support others

• Good team working skills

• High attention to detail

• Excellent planning and organising skills

• Able to use common sense when under pressure

• Ability to multi-task and deliver both immediate and longer-term tasks

• Able to demonstrate company mindsets and behaviours; Be accountable, Drive & delivery, communicate effectively, Self-manage effectively, Work as one team

The role is based in Guildford
