Job Overview

The Financial Controller for some Space Digital Satcom Programs is a key role within the Space Digital Finance team of Airbus Defence and Space GmbH. He/She is acting as Finance Business Partner and responsible for the financial management, budgetary control, and financial reporting for the Satcom programs portfolio and local Space Digital perimeter. He will act as internal referent/ expert for the German financial processes

This role requires strong financial expertise, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Main Responsibilities:

Program Financial Management:

  • Act as Finance Business Partner to Project Manager under his responsibility, coordinating reporting and improvement plan with her/him,
  • Be able to provide the financial perspective of the business matters and be a strong challenger of the operational people
  • Ensure the monitoring and budgetary control of the projects portfolio and support colleagues.
  • Consolidate the transnational financial information of each projects, in coordination with Financial counterparts
  • Drumbeat and secure delivering the various financial processes locally including among other budgetary (CC, budget hourly rate) and OP consolidation for Space Digital DACH
  • Consolidate and analyze DACH financials (P&L, FCF, BS) actuals highlighting discrepancies and propose mitigation actions if needed,
  • consolidate forecasts (revenue, costs, margins) following Company’s processes,
  • Identify and manage financial risks.
  • In its expert role, Fully supports business and local team in key changes decisions ( business cases, rates, major modifications...).
  • Participate in the definition of financial strategies for the programs.
  • Control the proper application of Airbus' financial and accounting rules.


Financial Reporting:

  • Manage all financial aspects of the business: project control, cost improvement initiatives, cash generation, risk & opportunity management, bid support.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the management.
  • Analyze the gaps between forecasts and actual results.
  • Provide recommendations to improve the financial performance of the programs.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Ensure correct accounting treatment in AD&S financial statements (P&L, B/S and FCF)


Internal Collaboration:

  • Work closely and transnationally with Financial colleagues as well as with programs teams, commercial teams, engineering teams, and other support functions.
  • Challenges and supports Sales, Engineering and Program organization on bid/no bid, pricing, target costing and T+C’s
  • Act as business partner: Be able to provide the financial perspective of all business matters, become a local financial referent for the team and be a strong challenger of the operational people
  • Participate in program follow-up meetings.


Required Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Control (minimum Bac +5) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in a similar position, ideally in the aeronautics, defense, or telecommunications sector.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in computer tools (advanced Excel, SAP, or other ERP).
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, HGB).
  • Knowledge of project management processes.
  • Knowledge of Public Price law would be a plus


Language Skills:

  • German (native or equivalent)
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) - essential for communication within an international group.
