Job Description

Job Description:

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a

System Architect - SE & MBSE Application & V&V Lead (d/f/m)

Airbus Helicopters is evolving. Within the framework of our strategy for the implementation of advanced Systems Engineering (SE) and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) across the entire design office, we are looking for a unique hybrid profile: A system architect (ideally aircraft architect) who acts as the "Voice of the Field" within our SE transformation project.

You belong to the Aircraft Architecture team. You form the bridge and integrate directly into the SE introduction project to ensure that our new frameworks are pragmatic, technically sound, and accepted and applied by the teams building the next generation of VTOL aircraft.

Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Our Benefits for You

  • Fair Compensation & Extras: Attractive remuneration and individual additional benefits, such as company pension schemes, mobility offers (e.g., bike leasing), or corporate discounts with partner companies in accordance with our current guidelines.
  • Time for You (and Your Loved Ones): 30 days of annual leave based on our collective agreement (35-hour week); work-life balance through flexible working hours (flextime), mobile working, part-time options, job sharing, and sabbatical opportunities.
  • Growth Made Easy: Excellent professional development opportunities and international, group-wide career perspectives.
  • Feel Good at Work: On-site company doctor; comprehensive health programs (sports courses, preventive care, etc.), canteen and cafeteria, and local childcare facilities at selected locations.
  • Diversity Connects: Work in a diverse environment with more than 140 nationalities, where exchange, mutual support, and inclusion are part of our DNA.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Voice of the Field: Represent the Aircraft Architecture Community within the SE introduction project. You capture the specific needs of the architects and ensure that SE decisions at project level are practically implementable.
  • Further development of the craft/metier: You are responsible for the development of the job profile "Aircraft Architect" from the perspective of Systems Engineering, especially with a focus on ARP4754 / ED79B. You lead the change in aircraft design from classical methods toward a robust SE/MBSE approach.
  • Tactical implementation (Short-term mission): Act as leading SE expert for current aircraft developments. You directly apply and monitor V&V aspects (Verification & Validation) for the aircraft and the integrated systems to ensure program success.
  • Support of the operational business: Offer on-site support to the design office and coach teams in the application of SE logic to solve complex architectural challenges.
  • Bridging function: Work together with SE/MBSE experts, configuration management and quality assurance to align architectural integrity with process excellence.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Completed studies in the field of aerospace, engineering or a comparable degree program
  • Sound knowledge in the fields of Overall Aircraft Design (OAD), physical design and certification
  • Several years of extensive professional experience in system or aircraft architecture leadership or in complex system integration (preferably in the VTOL/helicopter sector).
  • SE expertise: Proven success in the application of Systems Engineering (V&V, requirements, functional analysis) to complex aircraft or high-tech systems.
  • Hands-on mentality: You feel comfortable in the role of technical leader for V&V and ensure that theoretical designs meet strict certification and performance standards.
  • Leadership & influence: Ability to convince colleagues in the design office of the added value of SE, as well as mentoring and coaching competence for the Architecture Community.
  • Extensive experience in an Aircraft Architecture Development Path (or a comparable path for system architecture in a complex industry).
  • Sound knowledge in the application of SE over the entire lifecycle of a vehicle, especially expertise in ARP4754 / ED79B.
  • Fluent English skills (German or French skills are a strong plus)

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customized development solutions.
