In order to manage current and future projects, Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwörth as soon as possible as our new Digital Transformation Specialist within the Organic Materials Department (d/f/m) .

The Organic Materials and Processes Department is part of the Materials and Processes Laboratory integrated into Engineering of Airbus Helicopters (AH). It is responsible for the development and qualification of organic materials and processes for helicopter applications.

The main activities within the department are

  • Screening, development, and qualification of organic materials and processes
  • Supporting the design, structural analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance departments in questions concerning organic materials and processes
  • Preparation of material specifications and manufacturing instructions
  • Identification and implementation of innovations and research projects
  • Handling of production deviations, quality reports, and incidents from flight operations
  • Identification and processing of risks, improvement opportunities, and cost savings
  • Processing of material obsolescences


Core of your mission will be the creation, adaptation, implementation, and support of digital solutions to enhance the mission of Organics M&P with a strong integration in this Organic Métier.

This translates into the following main tasks and responsibilities

  • Data Structuration: Support data architecture definition, data creation, and quality improvement, including the adaptation/transformation of the working organization.
  • Data Analytics: Unleash the value of data to support the core mission of the M&P department.
  • Apply and further develop existing cure kinetic modelling tools.
  • Support the exploration of AI and newly developed digital capabilities to promote new solutions.
  • Support mindset evolution to integrate new digital-based solutions, including the promotion of modelling & digital testing.
  • Connect and benchmark within the company and beyond to propose new initiatives.
  • Participate in research and development projects in the field of high-performance composite materials for helicopter applications (high-temperature and fire-resistant designs, sustainable M&P, new materials, functionalization) and associated processes.


Desired skills and qualifications

  • Completed degree in aerospace engineering, materials science, software or web development, or a similar field
  • Advanced knowledge in Python Scripting, Javascript, Software Architecture, Database Structuration
  • Good knowledge in the field of polymeric and composite materials
  • Basic knowledge in the field of material testing
  • Hands-on experience of composites manufacturing and testing technologies would be a plus
  • Language skills: English business fluent, German and French would be a plus
  • Strong ability to work autonomously and taking responsibility
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Curiosity and open-mindedness for new ways of working and associated tools
  • Proactively drive projects forward
  • Practical, technical, and organizational skills


Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.
