In order to manage current and future projects, Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwörth as soon as possible as our new
Quality Assurance Engineer (d/f/m) for Engineering for Airbus Helicopters
Your location
At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your role is to ensure robustness in the development for existing and next generation of Programs.
You will do this through 4 pillars:
1. adhere to standard for consistency, secure the development in accordance with the regulations to secure delivery of solid engineering solutions
2. solve issue quickly to secure delivery of solid engineering solutions
3. improve the process continuously in order to be more resilient
4. prevent problems before they raise, secure risk mitigation and learn about previous projects
In this role you will follow the development of civil and military helicopters and systems with stakeholders, bringing communication between different departments and external authorities. You will directly interact and collaborate with internal departments such as Design Office, DOA management, Innovation, Quality, Manufacturing, as well as with our suppliers.
Main tasks
- Preparation and participation of Design Review and ensure process adherence
- Preparation and Participation of Functional Analysis
- Develop Quality document such as the Quality Assurance Plan
- Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives in order to improve efficiency
- Collaborate and interact with various departments and organizations, in particular with Helicopter Programs, Chief Engineer, Procurement and certification teams.
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills
- Degree (Master) in Engineering or similar course of studies
- Proven work experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer or similar role
- At least 8 years proven project management and experience in design reviews
- Good knowledge in system development processes (V model, functional analysis)
- Knowledge of configuration management principle
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills and ability to work in international context with strong networking skills
- Knowledge about Lean management is a plus
- Language Skills: English - negotiation level
