The successful applicant will join the Air Power Performance Engineering F&C Team in Getafe. The jobholder is responsible for the planning, controlling and steering of the Engineering contribution to the R&T and Innovation projects/activities, hence being very close to the technologies that will shape the future of aerospace and of Airbus.

The jobholder acts as a Business Partner, supporting Engineering and providing input on all economic and financial aspects of the business. He/she/they ensures quality in data generation, delivery and full financial visibility to enable clear decisions making for operational management teams. The jobholder is the finance focal points also for external organizations, such as EU for European funded projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Secure adherence to financial targets: cost adherence on projects (EAC or program directives);
  • Cascade the targets at the correct level of granularity to steer the business properly (Org Area, Personnel hours/Subco./Material, etc.);
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data on performance against budgets/targets highlighting discrepancies and risks & opportunities, ensuring early identification of deviation from the financial plan and orientate recovery measures for implementation;
  • Be in a position to master the topics from a financial point of view with special attention to the different impacts each topic or decision may have on the business;
  • Uses financial processes and tools, and basic project management and technical knowledge in operational areas;
  • Act as project controller, steering all contributors (all functions) for R&T projects;
  • Act as business partner to the Chief engineers and project leaders;
  • Active participation and guarantee adherence to R&T External Funding process, including RMC/MG03, MG04, etc...;
  • Be the finance focal point for external funding organisations;
  • Contribute to Finance improvement projects, collaborating with the extended finance organization or other functions to provide the best results;
  • Deliver high quality timely financial reports (Cockpit, PRM, Finance in SteerCo), and ensuring that these reports provide meaningful information regarding status vs targets;
  • Enhance implementation and usage of financial tools (e.g. SAP, CMA, SimpliFi, UP) to achieve more efficient controlling; taking care of operational toolset already in place (e.g. MyWorkload+).


SKILLS

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Management, Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Function or Project/Program Controlling.
  • Financially aware with high business partnering acumen.
  • Experience in engineering environment is an advantage.
  • Microsoft Office and Google workspace and tools, esp. Excel, Sheets.
  • Spanish and English to negotiation level.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving approach.
  • Proactive and independent working style.
  • Critical thinking & ability to constructively challenge the operational business.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent team working skills; willingness to work in a transnational environment.
