Job Description:
This position is placed under the authority of the Aerostructures Data Management at Airbus India Private Limited and is dedicated to Business Operational Support (BOS)-Stress activities. This critical role ensures operational excellence by serving as the essential link between our global engineering community and the powerful analysis tools they rely on.
The BOS Stress team supports Process & Methods related queries for all programs, primarily focusing on Stress analysis solutions ISAMI , FEM , and Stress standard methods & digitalization (F&DT/Composites/Metallic). The jobholder will function as the technical backbone for these critical operations.
Core Mission & Responsibilities
The jobholder's mission is centered on maintaining operational flow, driving efficiency, and building robust technical knowledge across the Stress perimeter.
1. Operational Excellence & Technical Support (L2)
- Front-Line Contact: Serve as the first Point of Contact (POC) for internal and external customers from the Stress perimeter.
- Incident Management: Manage and resolve Stress incidents (L2 level - Reactive) , including assessment, assignment, validation, and process compliance monitoring.
- Cross-Domain Liaison: Identify the relevant specialist, categorize issues to define a proactive action/solution, and actively network and liaise with a broad range of Stress sub-domains.
- Technical Contribution: Contribute to technical reviews and provide direct technical support to peers and involved stakeholders.
- Reporting: Ensure appropriate reporting and publishing on activities, with a focus on the process followed, achievements, and lessons learned.
2. Knowledge Management & Compliance
- Proactive Solutions: Identify the relevant specialists for recurring issues, categorize them, and define proactive actions/solutions to mitigate future risk.
- Knowledge Building: Create and publish high-quality technical articles to build a sustainable knowledge management repository.
- Procedure Awareness: Create awareness and provide support on new or updated procedures related to key Stress requirements for all stakeholders.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with agreed ways of working between European Engineering Entities and the Indian Centre, maintaining high standards of communication and reporting.
- Reporting: Publish appropriate reporting on activities, meticulously documenting the process followed, achievements, and lessons learned.
- Compliance: Comply with ways of working agreed between European Engineering Entities and the Indian Centre, ensuring effective communication is established and maintained.
Required Profile & Capabilities
1. Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.E / M.E / M. Tech) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering .
- Experience: Preferably 5 to 10 years of relevant domain experience.
2. Key Technical Expertise (Must-Haves)
- Structural Fundamentals: Solid knowledge of Overall Aircraft Architecture and proven experience performing sizing studies using classic Stress methods, hand calculations, and FEM .
- Materials Analysis: Expertise in Stress analysis of metallic and composite structures , including F&DT (Fatigue & Damage Tolerance).
- Finite Element Proficiency: Strong, practical experience in Finite Element Modelling / Analysis (FEM/FEA) , capable of performing justifications for linear and non-linear static and fatigue stress .
- Tool Mastery: Hands-on expertise with industry-standard tools including Hyperworks, Patran, Nastran, Hypermesh, Abacus, and SAFE. Practical experience with ISAMI is highly preferable.
- Standards: Familiarity with Design Values for both Composites and Metallic structures.
3. Leadership & Behavioral Skills
- Coordination: Ability to coordinate the efforts of a large team of diverse specialists and subject matter experts.
- Supplier Management: Ability to manage suppliers and their KPIs to meet Time, Cost, and Quality (TCQ).
- Communication: The job requires the ability to communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment and maintain good verbal & written English skills (a must).
- Mobility: The job requires travel to Europe, as and when needed by the business.
- Culture: Strong capacity to understand and align with Airbus culture, procedures, and customer needs .
