An opportunity for a Safety Technician has arisen within Airbus Operations, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Team. Our department is a strategic partner in ensuring that all industrial operations are carried out under the highest safety standards. You will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to protecting our most valuable asset: our people. Your role will be key in bridging the gap between EHS regulations and shopfloor operations, ensuring a safe and sustainable workplace for everyone.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

  • Support local management in ensuring adequate risk controls and overseeing the effective investigation of work-related incidents (from near-misses to environmental issues).
  • Promote EHS culture across all levels of the organization, from senior management to workshop staff, through awareness campaigns and safety initiations.
  • Coordinate and ensure the availability of relevant EHS training to maintain high safety standards and compliance.
  • Represent the EHS function in local meetings with management, workshop representatives, and trade unions.
  • Monitor industrial processes to ensure they align with national laws, safety regulations, and internal Airbus protocols.
  • Act as a specialist advisor on-site, requesting additional expert support when complex safety challenges arise.

SKILLS

  • Education: Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Certification: Mandatory Postgraduate/Master in Labor Risk Prevention (PRL) covering the three specialties.
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, ideally within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Soft skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence different stakeholders and work effectively in a multicultural team.
  • Languages: Negotiation level of English and Spanish is required.
  • Technical knowledge: Solid understanding of industrial processes and deep knowledge of national EHS laws and regulations.
