Main responsibilities (extended to interface with DOAs held by other organisations):
- Manage design organisation approvals by obtaining, extending, managing, assuring and maintaining all DOAs and privileges, including design organisation manuals and airworthiness procedural reference establishment and maintenance and the demonstration of adequacy to the Airworthiness Authorities;
- Ensure the continuous and effective compliance of the design assurance system with the applicable airworthiness regulatory requirements (independent monitoring function), maintaining the confidence of Airworthiness Authorities in the design organisation approvals of Airbus Defence and Space;
- Resolution of DOA queries supporting certification issues;
- Resolution of services DOA queries ensuring A/C delivery and fleet availability;
- Ensure effective integration of design supplier and partners within the design assurance system and continuous compliance with applicable DOA requirements along the life cycle of the product;
- Manage the cascade of the design organisation authority and signatories;
- Ensure effective coordination and interfaces, regarding design organisation and assurance processes, among DOAs as necessary; and also regarding DO-PO interfaces,
- Support effective implementation of SMS and ISMS,
- Take leadership to deliver to the Design Organisation the right level of the DOA Airworthiness expertise, including training programs.
- Represent Airbus in DOA airworthiness rulemaking and standardisation activities, gathering and disseminating regulatory knowledge and expertise within the Company.
