An opportunity for a DOA & Authority Management Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

The selected candidate will join a multicultural and multidisciplinary team in charge of managing and securing the Design Organization Approvals (DOA) and technical delegations. The main challenge of this role is to support the airworthiness delegation processes and maintain our DOA privileges throughout the product life cycle. The jobholder will reinforce our Airworthiness domain, ensuring effective coordination not only within Airbus but also interfacing with DOAs held by external partner organizations, suppliers, Production Organizations (PO), and Airworthiness Authorities to guarantee continuous compliance and fleet availability.

Responsibilities:

The main tasks of the jobholder will be:

  • Support the technical and airworthiness delegation processes within the Design Organization and cascade authorities to signatories.
  • Manage the delegation processes and effective integration of DOA suppliers and partners within the design assurance system.
  • Maintain and extend all DOA privileges, including the update of design organization manuals and airworthiness procedural references.
  • Resolve DOA and certification queries to actively support aircraft delivery and ensure continuous fleet availability.
  • Coordinate interfaces and assurance processes among different DOAs and manage the critical DO-PO (Design-Production) interfaces.
  • Demonstrate compliance and adequacy of design organization processes directly in front of the relevant Airworthiness Authorities.

  • Education: Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Professional experience in engineering, airworthiness regulations, or aerospace quality assurance systems.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong knowledge of DOA requirements (EASA Part 21J / Military equivalents) and DO-PO relationship frameworks.
  • Soft skills: High adaptability to work in a networking mode, strong communication skills, and ability to manage complex interfaces.
  • Languages: Advanced level of English (mandatory).
