Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for Calibration and Repair to join our Manufacturing department based in Mobile, AL.

The Calibration Planner & Coordinator manages the schedule for tool calibration by coordinating with external vendors and internal departments to minimize operational disruptions. This role requires using SAP and Google Workspace to manage work orders, track equipment, and maintain accurate records like calibration certificates. Qualified candidates must have at least three years of coordination experience and an Associate's degree, along with strong organizational and communication skills.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:

Primary Responsibilities:

Planning & Coordination 60%

  • Develop and manage the schedule for tool calibration, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Liaise with external vendors to coordinate calibration, repair, and replacement services.
  • Communicate effectively with department managers and team members to facilitate the timely exchange of tools.
  • Prepare all necessary shipping documents and package tools for shipment to vendors.
  • Actively participate in team meetings to report on calibration status and help improve processes.

System & Data Management 20%

  • Utilize SAP to manage work orders, track equipment status, and process tool movements in the system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Google Drive, including calibration tracking sheets, inventory lists, and service reports.
  • Download and file calibration certificates from vendor portals and upload them to our internal systems.
  • Regularly review system data, spreadsheets, and reports for accuracy and completeness.

Tool Processing & Handling 20%

  • Process incoming tools from vendors and prepare outgoing tools for calibration.
  • Perform basic checks to ensure tools are functioning correctly before being sent out for service.
  • Type, print, and affix identification and calibration labels to equipment.
  • Assist the tool shop team with general duties, including distributing tools and equipment as needed.
  • Investigate and locate missing or misplaced tools using various software systems.

Other duties as assigned.

Your boarding pass:

Required Education:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a planning, logistics, or coordination role is required.
  • An Associate's degree is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in SAP.
  • Advanced Google sheets and/or MS Excel knowledge.

Preferred Education:

  • 5 years SAP experience
  • 5 years of experience in a planning, logistics, or coordination role.
  • A Bachelor's degree in science is a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency using SAP in a professional environment is essential.
  • Strong skills in Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets and Drive.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Clear and professional communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accurate record-keeping.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in a manufacturing, industrial, or technical environment.
  • Hands-on experience with tool management or inventory control.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
