Batteries Assembly Line Team Leader

Job Description:

As part of Airbus Crisa's strategic growth into space energy storage, the Battery Assembly Line (BAL) has been established as a strategic new business line dedicated to designing, integrating, and manufacturing high-reliability Lithium-Ion battery modules for space missions. Our mission is to pave the way in space power systems by maintaining world-class standards of safety, quality, cost, and
delivery (SQCD). We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to guide operations, foster Lean manufacturing practices, and lead our shift team in this pioneering venture.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supervising shift operations for space-grade Lithium-Ion battery assembly. The primary objective is to guarantee final product delivery while strictly adhering to Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) targets. This role entails operational leadership of a
shift team of up to 10 operators, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant workflow under aerospace standards.

Main Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure absolute workplace safety and actively reinforce a strong safety culture.
  
• Enforce strict compliance with all safety protocols, specifically for high-voltage and electrical risk product handling.
  

Team & Operations Management

• Lead, motivate, and coordinate team members throughout the assigned shift.
  
• Guarantee execution of the daily production plan, optimizing workload balance and minimizing downtime or operational losses.
  
• Foster a continuous improvement culture grounded in Lean principles, ensuring line efficiency, organization, and 5S standards.
  
• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for cross-functional departments (Quality, Engineering, Logistics) to resolve technical bottlenecks and production issues.
  

Technical Supervision & Quality Control

• Operate and supervise automated machinery and integration equipment.
  
• Supervise high-precision assembly operations, component cleaning, and surface coating processes.
  
• Perform and oversee required inspections in accordance with the Quality Assurance plan.
  
• Coordinate module testing workflows (component tests, EGSE capacity testing, and vibration testing).
  
• Ensure full product end-to-end traceability via the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and maintain accurate production reporting.
  

Candidate profile & requirements

Education: Technical Degree or Higher Vocational Education (FP Superior) in Electronics, Mechanics, or Industrial Manufacturing (or equivalent industry experience).
Experience: Proven experience leading production shifts/teams within high-precision industrial or highly regulated manufacturing environments (Aerospace, Automotive, or Electronics).

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electromechanical/electronic assembly processes, high-reliability quality standards (e.g., AS9100), and MES/SAP tools.

Languages: Spanish (Native / Professional) and English (Fluent level required for technical documentation, systems, and global collaboration).
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, high operational autonomy, problem-solving skills under pressure, and effective cross-departmental communication.
