Context:
As a Solution Architect for iDMU / Industrial Means for 3DEXperience (m/f) , you will join the “Process & Resources” Product in the “One PLM” Product Service Line, in charge of developing 3DExperience solutions for Manufacturing Engineering and Customer Services PLM related applications, and will functionally report to the Head of Product.
The scope of the organization is to deliver to Airbus Business a single & harmonized set of IS/IT tools for the development of the Aircraft, its industrial set-up and the support and Services part, non-recurring & recurring aspects included.
The organization is established to ensure the development and the support of Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) solutions in a context of Airbus Group Process, Method and Tools strategy.
The scope will be linked to topics related to Product Process and Resources in the fields of Manufacturing area but also Support and Services or Quality.

iDMU stands for Industrial Digital Mock-Up, where the main goal is to enable a single, collaborative design process that produces a fully validated virtual representation of the product and its manufacturing line and associated Industrial Means. This process aims to de-risk the production system design by enabling collaboration with Engineering, hangar/line/station design and SOI creation in a full 3D industrial environment.

The Industrial Digital Mock-Up (iDMU) aims to establish a singular, collaborative design process. Its core objective is to deliver a completely validated virtual representation of both the product and its associated manufacturing line, including all Industrial Means. By facilitating collaboration across Engineering, hangar/line/station design, and Standard Operating Instruction (SOI) creation within a comprehensive 3D industrial environment, this process significantly mitigates risks in the production system's design.

Main missions:
1. Take part
in E2E PLM Portfolio in the frame of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and contribute to the elaboration of the Portfolio Roadmap.
2. Translates the business needs into IT requirements and proactively identify opportunities for business transformation or improvement enabled by technology.

Develops a solid understanding of the customer's existing business and business processes ideally end-to-end, the key drivers and measures of success for the business, and the short- and long-term direction of the business and related technologies.

Formulates functional and non functional requirements of the business organization and advises on the lifecycle of the information solutions. Evaluates the impact in terms of change management.

Collaborates with the IT Product Manager while ensuring that the developed solutions are inline with evolving customer needs

3. Balances technological opportunities with business (process) requirements. Delivers the framing design including the non functional requirements, that guides solution design for the IT Product, in line with the Enterprise Architecture guidelines, in strong collaboration with Technology Specialists.

Tasks and accountabilities:

  • Conducts in-depth discovery meetings, targeted at understanding, capturing, and identifying the complex business requirements and operational objectives of the customer, with recommendations on automation.
  • Identify areas for improvement in business processes providing possible IT solutions compliant with the Digital strategy
  • Supports the IT Product Manager in the Product/Service Planning based on the customer requirements
  • Produces documentation of current challenges, future requirements, and benefits in a manner appropriate for the customer
  • Defines and develop the required specification documents to be reviewed with stakeholders and Product team members
  • Performs the technical/functional design of the application and infrastructure components of a new solution according to the defined functional design.
  • Serves as liaison between Product Management teams and technical resources during product development and implementation to ensure integrity of the solution delivered.
  • Provides an expertise on Business processes, change management transformation, function improvement and technology enablement for Business processes reengineering and supports architects during projects.
  • Follow all phases of the application development life cycle including research and design, development, testing, implementation and support.

This role will involve some travel for business (once a month) and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills and experience:

  • Over 5 years of experience in functional architecture, project management, solution engineering or another relevant field.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Ideally, knowledge in the field of Design, Manufacturing, Support and Services, or in the following domains: Manufacturing Engineering, Shop Floor Execution, Industrial Modelling and Simulation, Configuration Management, Quality, Configured Digital Mock-Up (DMU), Product Lifecycle Management, Engineering IS, Architecture, Maintenance and Repair.
  • Ability to lead a project from start to finish and deliver results.
  • Ability to drive improvement and innovation.
  • Knowledge of IT tools customizing and architecture, IT and business strategy alignment, IT product design and product development, IT business change management.
  • Customer and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Initiative and creativity.
  • Fluent English (mandatory).
