About the role
Reporting into the Head of Motor Claims Insight & Analysis, this is a senior leadership role at the centre of Motor Claims decision making. You’ll lead the insight agenda for Motor Claims, shaping how data is used to drive strategy, performance and change across the department.
This role has a strong transformation focus, with exciting projects underway to modernise reporting, transition insight capability to the cloud, and significantly improve how insight is created and consumed across Motor Claims.
You’ll work closely with Heads of Department across operational claims areas, as well as Pricing and Actuarial teams, to provide clear, trusted insight that influences senior decisions and delivers real commercial and customer impact.
What you’ll do
- As a senior leader, you’ll lead and develop a team of analysts (up to three direct reports) to:
- Set the analytical direction for Motor Claims, translating strategy and business plans into clear insight priorities
- Partner closely with Motor Claims Heads of Department, Pricing and Actuarial stakeholders to shape thinking and support key decisions
- Lead the development of insightful, modern reporting and analytics, maximising value from Looker and our evolving cloud data platforms
- Provide proactive, senior‑level insight and commentary, identifying trends, risks and opportunities across claims performance
- Ensure high‑quality governance of data and reporting, with confidence in accuracy, consistency and relevance
- Support test‑and‑learn activity by defining success measures, assessing ROI and ensuring outcomes are clearly understood
- Play a key role in surge events, providing timely insight to support operational response and decision making
- Act as a trusted subject matter expert on claims insight, using data to solve complex business problems and drive improvement
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Proven experience leading insight or analytics teams in a complex, data‑rich environment
- Strong analytical capability, with a track record of using insight to influence senior stakeholders and shape decisions
- Experience operating at a strategic level, balancing long‑term direction with operational priorities
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence working with senior leaders across multiple functions
- Experience delivering insight through modern BI tools and evolving data platforms
Desirable:
- Knowledge or experience of Motor Claims or wider insurance claims environments
- Experience supporting large‑scale change, transformation or cloud migration programmes
