Job Description

Role: Technology Transformation & Delivery Manager

Location: London, Manchester or Edinburgh

Mobility: Up to 100%

Career Level: Manager (ML7)

About the team

Technology Strategy & Transformation leads at the intersection of business and technology, driving client value through AI, technology and data. Within it, Technology Transformation & Delivery is the control tower for complex execution: we deliver transformation at speed and scale for COO and CIO clients running technology modernisation, AI integration, data platform transformation and complex integration or divestment.

  • Transformation Delivery: delivery leaders embedded in our clients' most complex programmes, providing execution leadership, risk management and value tracking from initiation to go-live.
  • Transformation Office: establishing and running the governance, planning and controls framework that keeps a complex portfolio aligned, using AI-driven programme intelligence to surface risks early and give leadership accurate visibility of progress and value.

The transformation office is being reinvented. Reporting assembled by hand is becoming automated; risk found in a weekly forum is being surfaced by models reading delivery data live; plans maintained manually are being tested against simulation. We are building the AI-led methods, playbooks and reinvention offices behind that shift. Managers joining now will shape how the practice operates, not just work within it.

The role

You will run a transformation office or a major workstream end to end, accountable for the quality of what leaves your team, the credibility of the plan and reporting in front of client executives, and the people delivering it. You will often be the most senior Accenture delivery presence in the room: our Managers run client governance without cover above them, holding the line on scope and handling the difficult conversation when a milestone is at risk.

We also expect Managers to change how the work is done, identifying where governance, planning and reporting can be reengineered around AI and making that case to clients still doing it by hand.

This role is industry agnostic at point of hire. You will work across Health & Public Services, Products, Resources, Financial Services and Communications, Media & Technology. Where you bring industry depth we will use it; where you don't, we will help you build it.

The work

Engagements vary and no two Managers do the same job. The areas below run across the practice; you will typically lead in two or three at a time depending on the engagement.

  • Transformation office leadership: standing up and running a client transformation office, from governance design to delivery.
  • Delivery leadership: leading a workstream or delivery area, accountable for scope, schedule, dependencies and outcome.
  • Integrated planning: owning the plan across multiple workstreams and vendors, and keeping the critical path honest.
  • Risk ownership: holding the programme-level risk picture and escalating to executive level with a position, not just a flag.
  • Programme intelligence and executive reporting: owning what leadership sees, and using automated reporting to shape decisions rather than record them.
  • Value definition and tracking: agreeing the value case with the client and proving whether benefits are landing.
  • Programme recovery: diagnosing what has gone wrong when an engagement is off track and resetting the delivery trajectory, with a clear action plan and executive narrative.
  • AI-led ways of working: reengineering delivery and governance around AI — including agentic delivery and AI-powered reinvention offices — and deploying our industrialised accelerators on client engagements.
  • Team leadership: leading Consultants and Analysts, developing capability, and counselling members of the practice.
  • Business development: contributing to proposals and identifying extension opportunities on live accounts.

What we're looking for

Essential

  • Substantial experience leading delivery or a transformation office on large, complex, technology-enabled programmes.
  • Proven ability to run client governance independently, including escalation and challenging stakeholders.
  • Depth in integrated planning, risk and dependency management, governance design and executive reporting.
  • Experience managing a delivery team and assuring the quality of other people's work.
  • Commercial awareness: scope control, change control, and the impact of delivery decisions on margin.
  • A point of view on AI in programme delivery, with evidence of having applied it.
  • Working knowledge of delivery and reporting toolsets (Power BI, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, Jira, Clarity or similar).

Desirable

  • Consulting at Manager level, or equivalent client-side programme leadership.
  • Agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery at scale.
  • Multi-vendor programmes, including vendor performance management.
  • Business readiness, benefits realisation or process reengineering experience.
  • Certification such as MSP, P3O, PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM or SAFe.

What we offer

  • A practice being rebuilt around AI-led delivery, with real scope to shape how it operates.
  • Our largest and most complex client programmes, and a visible path to Senior Manager.
  • Continuous learning, including Accenture's AI and delivery capability programmes.

What’s in it for you

At Accenture in addition to a competitive basic salary, you will also have an extensive benefits package, private medical insurance and 3 extra days leave per year for charitable work of your choice!

Accenture reserves the right to close the role prior to this date should a suitable applicant be found.
