As a team:

Our team accelerates growth and value for our clients through sustained customer relevance. We are a bold and generous team of creatives, designers, technologists, strategists and engineers working together to make possibilities a reality. We are purpose-built to help businesses serve the modern customer and their ever-evolving needs.

As part of our team, you will help transform leading organisations and communities around the world. The sheer scale of our capabilities and client engagements and the way we collaborate, operate, and deliver value provides an unparalleled opportunity to grow and advance.

You will learn and grow within an innovative culture that thrives on shared success and diverse ways of thinking, enabling boundaryless opportunities that can drive your career in new and exciting ways. This is a fast-paced, client-centric environment, with a constant focus on developing our people and a collaborative, mutually encouraging culture.

As part of our team, you will be working with cutting-edge design systems and digital platforms, and you will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of new skills on the job.

We’re especially looking for individuals who are experts in front-end engineering for mobile or web platforms, with deep experience in modern frameworks and performance optimisation. You’ll bring hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies and understand how to apply them to enhance product experiences. Consulting experience is also key — you’ll be comfortable engaging with clients, shaping solutions and driving strategic outcomes.

As a Front-End Engineering Team Lead, you will:

  • Support growth within our customer technology product engineering practice
  • Advise clients on how to build product and platform engineering capabilities and teams
  • Build strong client relationships focused on customer, digital and platforms
  • Lead teams across large digital & agile transformation programmes
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists and Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products and solutions
  • Propel the use of Generative AI within our work and products
  • Contribute technology and engineering thought leadership to our clients and teams
  • Maximise team performance through mentorship, skills learning and career development
  • Contribute to developing offerings, assets and capabilities, and take part in events

Job Qualifications

We are looking for experience in the following:

  • 4+ years' front-end web development experience using TypeScript/JavaScript (with Node.js-based tooling or similar)
  • 2+ years' experience leading engineering teams or squads, including setting technical direction, guiding code quality and owning delivery outcomes
  • Experience working closely with other disciplines (Design, QA, Cloud, PM/PO/Delivery)
  • Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks and libraries (React or similar, ideally including meta-frameworks such as Next.js), including state management and component-driven development
  • Hands-on use of Generative AI in your engineering workflows (e.g. AI coding assistants and agentic tooling) and in the products you build, such as LLM-powered features
  • Experience building, maintaining and scaling design systems and component libraries, working closely with designers to keep them consistent
  • Experience integrating front-end applications with backend and cloud services through GraphQL and RESTful APIs
  • Extensive experience in agile environments for digital product creation
  • Broad experience in modern front-end engineering practices across web and/or mobile, including:
  • Front-end architecture patterns (e.g. component-driven design, micro-frontends, server-side rendering and static generation)
  • Performance and scalability, including optimising Core Web Vitals
  • Security best practices, secure coding and privacy awareness
  • Unit, integration and end-to-end automated testing (e.g. Jest, Playwright or Cypress)
  • CI/CD setup and maintenance
  • Debugging and complex problem-solving
  • Accessibility best practices
  • Client-facing or leadership consulting experience, including engaging stakeholders, shaping solutions and turning business goals into technical outcomes
  • Confident articulating technology and engineering trends to clients and teams
  • Track record of improving delivery speed and quality through modern engineering practices (e.g. trunk-based development, feature flags, automated quality gates and DORA metrics)

Set yourself apart:

  • Cloud Platform experience (AWS/GCP/Azure/Vercel)
  • Experience with cross-platform mobile frameworks (e.g. React Native or Flutter)
  • Experience with experimentation and progressive delivery (e.g. A/B testing and feature-flagging platforms)
  • Presented your work at an event or conference
  • Experience developing short & long-term plans for a team’s growth and transformation
  • Track record of engaging with senior leadership as a trusted advisor

What’s in it for you:

Our Total Rewards consist of a competitive basic salary, annual performance bonus, opportunities to acquire equity and a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits. These include perks such as:

  • 25 days of leave to spend each year plus 3 extra volunteering days per year for charitable work of choice.
  • Family-friendly and flexible work policies.
  • Attractive pension plan with financial wellbeing support and resources.
  • Private healthcare insurance plan and Mental Wellbeing support.
  • Employee Assistance Programme, Career Development and Counselling.
  • A range of generous Parental Leave offerings.

Flexibility and mobility are required to deliver this role as there will be requirements to spend time onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery of the outstanding services we are known for.
