Job Description
About 9fin
The world's largest asset class, debt, operates with the worst data.
Technology has revolutionized equity markets with electronic trading, quant algos and instantaneous news. However, in debt capital markets, the picture is completely different. It still behaves like it’s in the 1980s; trillions of dollars of trades are placed over the phone, news is slow, and corporate credit information is imperfect and scattered.
Our mission is to change this.
9fin's proprietary technology delivers fast and comprehensive financial, credit, legal & ESG analysis. Our clients are able to make faster, more informed decisions, win more business and most importantly, save time.
Our fast growing list of clients include 9 of the top 10 Investment Banks, leading Asset Managers, Hedge Funds and Law Firms.
What you’ll work on
Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on:
Analysis – as either a generalist or specialised in a particular sector, deep dive into corporate earnings reports, provide financial updates on specific credits, review new deals and produce market-leading thematic research. Become a leading voice in our industry
Training and development – alongside building your own expertise, use your knowledge to help 9fin’s growing analyst team develop their skills. This includes line management, providing daily guidance, motivation and feedback. As the Senior Analyst, you work closely with our Editorial arm, helping decode the complexities of the market, and ensure clients are up to speed with the latest developments
Relationship & product evangelism – Support clients, answer questions on our platform and provide insight. Gather feedback and work with the product team to develop the 9fin offering, taking the lead on new and exciting developments
This role will be a great fit:
If you are a graduate, or recent graduate with the following attributes, we are interested in hearing from you:
Experience – 3+ years experience in high yield or leveraged finance markets. This may be via sell-side, buy-side or third party research firms
Strong communication – demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication, producing clean, timely, and accurate copy in a concise manner. Exhibit excellent attention to detail
Problem solving – enjoy interpreting information and constructing effective solutions to complex problems. Be a team player, but also able to effectively work alone (although help is always on hand if you need)
Drive – Bring an inquisitive and passionate mindset, demonstrating a strong interest in the development and dynamics of financial (and especially) capital markets. A self-starter, you should be up for the challenge of a role that will morph and transform as we continue to grow
Note from the hiring manager
“At 9fin, we focus on understanding and explaining the most complex parts of capital markets. We provide clear, trusted data and insight to the world’s leading financial firms. As a Senior Credit Analyst, you’ll play a central role in that mission – shaping our credit research and helping lead a growing team of talented analysts.
I’ve seen 9fin grow rapidly over the past few years, building a strong reputation in Europe and the Americas. We’re now expanding further in APAC and are looking for someone thoughtful, driven, and curious to help lead that effort. The role offers deep exposure to global credit markets, real scope for personal development, and the chance to have a genuine stake in 9fin’s future.”
9fin is an equal opportunities employer
At 9fin we are dedicated to building and promoting a fair and inclusive workplace where everyone can reach their full potential and truly belong. We recognize that building diverse teams enables a more creative and productive environment. If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t perfectly align with the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might just be who we’re looking for — either for this role, or perhaps another.
