About the role
We are seeking an experienced Specialist in Compliance with a comprehensive understanding of IFRS, Spanish GAAP, auditing and assurance standards, statutory accounts preparation, financial and tax consolidation, internal controls, and SAP (FI and CO). The successful candidate will be part of the General accounting department, responsible for ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing statutory financial reports, managing financial consolidation processes, maintaining record to report internal controls, and supporting the use of SAP for financial management.
As a Specialist Compliance, you´ll be in charhe of the following responsibilities:
1. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, Spanish GAAP, and other applicable local financial reporting standards.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
2. Financial & Tax Consolidation:
- Lead the consolidation of financial data for both management and statutory reporting purposes.
- Manage intercompany eliminations, currency translations, and other consolidation adjustments.
- Oversee tax consolidation, ensuring correct tax filings and compliance.
3. Internal Controls:
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls over financial reporting to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Identify risks related to record to report financial operations and propose mitigating actions.
4. SAP Systems:
- Oversee the use of SAP for financial accounting, reporting, and consolidation processes.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy in SAP, including proper configuration for compliance with accounting standards.
- Troubleshoot SAP-related financial system issues and work with IT to resolve them.
5. Ad-hoc Analysis & Reporting:
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting support to senior management.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports.
What do we need?
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or CPA is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Spanish GAAP, and statutory accounting practices.
- Proven experience in financial and tax consolidation, internal controls, and statutory reporting.
- Hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office, including Excel (advanced), Word, Power Point and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Experience with international financial regulations.
- This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who can work collaboratively across different teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
