Job Description

Role Purpose

Develop and implement new M-Pesa products and services ; assess new requests, design solutions, perform business configuration and implement new initiatives. Work with other stakeholders during the different stages of new product development to support and deliver projects. Write or review for validation all required documentation to develop new product (Project Request, Business Requirement Specification, Change Request, Data Privacy, IT security contract, Risk Assessment, Technical Solution Design, Cyber Security Assessment, Business Process …)
Work closely with all key stakeholders to deliver new product (Billing & IT, Suppliers, partners, Custmer Care, orporate Security / Revenue Assurance, Cyber Security, Legal / Data Privacy, Business team…)
Drive innovation by executing new partnership impacting positively the M-Pesa business; by identifying, analyzing and implementing new opportinuties that technology is offering through the M-.Pesa ecosystem and any other idea shared.
Work with M-Pesa Africa to develop and deliver new initiative; align to Agile methodology and attend PI activities scheduled by M-Pesa Africa to delivery new products and services.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

Impact on the business
• Ensure feasibility study for all new request of product or service related to Payment and Online integration;
• Ensure effective and efficient management of projects related to Payment & partners integration to M-Pesa eco-system.
• Perform analysis and feasibility assessment of new M-Pesa initiatives / requests and advise on the way of handling and converting them into new products or services.
• Ensure software development for new M-Pesa initiatives or requests.
• Support partners to finalize development and integration to the M-Pesa eco-system.
• Ensure business configuration on G2 to support all new product or service implementation;
• Follow up on a regular basis with all key stakeholders involved in the process of a new product development and share update to the M-Pesa team.
• Design solution for M-Pesa partners as per their requests and implement them.
• Ensure business configuration into the mobile money platform for new products or services.
• Ensure business configuration for new products and services into the M-Pesa middleware platform (on test environment).
• Manage and improve relationship between M-Pesa team and the world of Developers, Start-up, Incubators, Fintech, Aggregators to bring innovation and represent M-Pesa to the different forum of innovation and promote our solutions.
• Schedule regular meeting with other key stakeholders to develop and deliver new products or services.
• Work closely with M-Pesa Africa team to develop and deliver group initiatives.
• Support M-Pesa Sales and Commercial teams to present our offers to the market.
• Interact with VODACOM to ensure that WASP partners are using M-Pesa as payment mode for all existing and new VAS offers.
• Deal with the Change Management team to plan and approve business changes related to new product and service.
• Ensure that Mobile Money projects are delivered on time and according to the scope, following the established project development methodology, and enhance visibility in the progress of execution, implementation of tasks and milestones;

Skills, Ability and Knowledge

• Good understanding of project Design, MS Project and hardware design
• Understanding of Web Services and API modeling,
• Understanding of Open API;
• IT background, especially in connectivity models;

• Use of excellent communication with staff, management, suppliers and partners; and decision-making skills with sufficient understanding and ability to balance multiple tasks.

Education & Experience

• A university Degree in Engineering, Mathematics Degree (BAC + 5) / IT Diploma – University or Telecom
• 2 to 3 years working experience in GSM or Mobile Money environment or Project management or Product Development environment
• Experience in project management
• Knowledge of GSM network standards principles
• Knowledge and experience in systems integration and systems administration.
