Location: Newbury (Hybrid)

Salary: Excellent basic salary plus commission and Vodafone benefits
Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Mon to Fri

What you’ll do

We're recruiting for a Lead Data Governance Manager to join our Finance Data & Analytics team here at Vodafone UK. As a Lead Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of a comprehensive data ownership program that aligns with the organisation's data strategy. This role will ensure data assets are identified, documented, and managed effectively by designated data owners and stewards.


Now is an exciting time to join the team as we begin our data transformation journey to implement this agreed data strategy working across all of Vodafone UK.


Wider responsibilities will also include, but will not be limited to:

  • Lead and champion the Vodafone UK data governance program within a federated ownership model. You will be responsible for establishing, operating, and continuously improving on a standardised framework including Data Ownership and Data Governance.
  • You will play a key role in assuring that UK Policies and Standards are in place and being adhered to whilst also overseeing the Data Management Risk landscape.
  • Schedule workshops and meetings to introduce the data ownership program to stakeholders.
  • Conduct Kick-off Meetings for Data Owners to establish roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Lead the process of Data Asset Identification to create a comprehensive inventory of critical data.
  • Conduct periodic Data Governance Check-ins after rollout to monitor progress and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with business units to facilitate Business Process Show and Tell sessions to understand data usage within different departments.

Who you are

  • Demonstrable background in data governance, having played a pivotal role in driving the improvement and maturity of corporate data governance and the rollout of Data Ownership.
  • Understanding of data ownership models and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with a clear track record of translating ideas and information to all levels of seniority.
  • Builds relationships within and across departments with a collaborative and consultative mindset.
  • Adept in the utilisation of the MS Office suite and data governance tools such as ‘Collibra’ would be beneficial.
