Your day to Day

To support Vodafone’s key strategic growth areas in IoT, Group Enterprise Technology requires a highly capable and experienced DevOps Resources. You will be responsible install, support and monitor the integration and test environments of the IoT IT project deliveries. You will work very closely with technical delivery leads, integration engineers, system integrators and software developers and ensure the IoT deliveries happen in time, on budget & effectively follows the agile best practices & principles.

This is a very central & exciting role within the young and dynamic IoT enablement & applications team, which is a newly formed organisation to address ever growing demands of IoT, such as, smart cities et. al.

With these activities you will have a great impact on our business

• You will install and release new components in dev and test environments

• You will produce document installation to feed the staging and production upgrade and installation procedures

•You will take care of automatization of new builds and deployments

•You will implement and propose monitoring scripts

•You understand internet of things technologies & architecture.

•You have a strong interest & skills in software development for internet, mobile and/or communications technology

•You have excellent communication, presentation & reporting skills in English (both written and spoken)

With these skills you are a great candidate

•You have knowledge of Java and scripting skills (bash, Perl and/or Python)

•You have knowledge of software engineering practices and DevOps tools to support the development of a microservices application

•You analyze and design infrastructures to enable an easier monitoring of services, performance, workflows, resource usage and error troubleshooting

•You have knowledge of Databases: Oracle

•You have knowledge of control & build systems: Maven, GIT;

•You have knowledge of continuous integration: Jenkins;

•You have knowledge of virtual containers: dockers;

•You have knowledge of Web Application servers: WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache;

•You have knowledge in provisioning, operations, and management of AWS environments
