Role Purpose
The Finance Senior Specialist will assist the Finance Manager in the day to day running of the Foundation’s financial processes and legal work. This includes support in general administration of the Foundation’s finance systems to comply with Vodafone’s financial regulations and Ministry of Social Solidarity’s regulations.
Key Accountabilities & Decision Ownership
• Assists in Financial Planning, including budgeting.
• Responsible for a Foundation accounting, records, and disbursement procedures.
• Assists Financial Manager in Preparation of periodic financial reports for submission to Board of Trustees,
• Provides guidance for selected NGO/ Vendors in the finalization of Project budgets and annual budgets based on annual work plans and progress reports vis-à-vis budget,
• Assists in the “NGOs Institutional Assessment” to examine and evaluate the financial status of Foundation grantees and review and comment upon their proposals and budgets including its audit thereof.
• Interacts with Foundation Project teams, and Field Officers on Financial, contractual obligations and performance.
• Works closely with the project teams and guiding them on project matters including expenditure and procurement procedures.
• Supports Foundation Finance manager in commissioning and overseeing end of year internal/ external financial audits for projects.
• Develops a Financial management Information System, Control procedures for the project grants.
• Assists the Financial Manager in drafting legal agreements and keeping a record for renewal of contracts with different partners/vendors/content providers.
• Manages the process of Opex and Capex, including processing of POs and cash advances.
Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in financial, project management and/or accounting experience.
• Excellent command of written Arabic especially drafting financial reports and legal contracts.
• Previous experience working in the development field, and/or civil society is a plus.
• Excellent communication & reporting skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• B.S in Business Administration, B.S of Finance, B.S in Accounting or equivalent degree
• Previous experience in Compliance/AML/risk management
• English language fluency
• Strong analytical skills with ability to set priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with MS PowerPoint and report writing
• Strong Analytical skills and Proficient use if excel and access
