Your role in a nutshell:
Vodafone Servizi e Tecnologie (VST) is one of the Vodafone Group entities based in Italy, managing centralised data centre services and supporting multiple local markets as part of the Group Technology organisation. As an integral member of the Finance Operations team looking after VST, the role will be responsible for finance operations & margin assurance process including financial control, compliance, transformation, quality targets for all accountabilities and the delivery of related operational efficiencies. This results in an effective and efficient accounting and compliance management, including the fulfilment of all governance and statutory reporting requirements, the preparation of internal reporting and application of detailed policies and operating procedures to ensure compliance with Group standards and local tax/legal/statutory requirements. In addition, the role will have accountabilities over tax accounting and treasury processes by way of direct involvement as well as coordination with external consultants. The role will work in close cooperations with the finance colleagues from the Shared Service Center organisation as well as other Group functions. Upon need, the role may also be involved in the finance operations processes of other Italian based entities belonging to the Vodafone Group.
What you’ll do
- Has full accountability for the financial accounting processes and procedures of VST
- Has responsibility for the integrity of all P&L and Balance Sheet accounts under IFRS
- Prepares ad-hoc monthly reports including analytical reviews and variance analysis addressed to the management (Head of Finance Operations, Group Technology Finance Director, etc.)
- Takes responsibility for preparing the annual statutory financial statements and managing the statutory audit obligations
- Creates periodic reports for the purpose of the statutory board of external auditors (Collegio Sindacale) including attendance as key representative of the entity
- Prepares periodic intragroup recharges in line with transfer pricing policy in place
- Has oversight over tax accounting process, particularly day to day VAT management and returns submission, intrastat reporting, etc.
- Contributes to treasury related matters, including support to bank reconciliations, handling of bank mandates and responsibility over local payment obligations
- Acts as main point of contacts for external advisors mainly in the fields of accounting, tax and payroll related matters
- Has responsibility for compliance with Finance SOX controls
- Liaises with commercial finance colleagues to monitor OPEX and CAPEX spend and prepare ad-hoc analysis
- Participates to the forecast process in coordination with business stakeholders, Group Reporting and Group Planning teams
- Manages transformational projects by coordinating the various stakeholders involved, e.g. implementation of billing cycle
- Direct effective partner relation and performance management with Shared Services Center teams, as well as business partnering on new business requirements
- Create a culture of proactive continuous improvement of processes, systems and people and provide a platform for the people to develop their career and employability
What will you bring to the team:
- Excellent communication skills to ensure a transparent representation of the results, processes and procedures and to influence multiple stakeholders
- Leadership skills and experience in managing remote and virtual teams in a complex and changing/dynamic operating environment
- Technical financial skill (e.g. financial accounting, commission etc. – reference Finance Operating Model) by long-term practical experience
- ‘Can Do’ mindset with focus on customer satisfaction beyond expectations
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- University graduate, preferably from Finance and Accounting, Business Administration, Economics + Certified Accountants (Dottore Commercialista)
- At least (5) years of working experience, in FinOps, FP&A and/or statutory audit, either by practical delivery or through oversight
- Fluency in English and Italian
- Experience with Italian tax and regulatory matters
- Experience with SAP FI, HFM and OneSource
- Experiences in international organisations and in telecommunications industry would be an advantage
- Very strong cooperation, coordination, communication and presentation skills
- Analytical-minded, hardworking, innovative, adaptable, team player and leader with broad experience and understanding of performance management
