Role Purpose:

The Commercial Planning Manager will support the Head of Commercial Planning in creating a performance management framework aligning our channels to deliver on our DB commitments as set out by Chief Product Owners ensuring we continue to win market share.
You will be an expert in leveraging our commercial frameworks ensuring the alignment between our commercial goals and channel activity/trading. You are collaborative in style and driven to improve commercial performance.
You will ensure that Internal DB & activity planning is connected to our channels through the evolution and alignment of our channel strategy, commercial frameworks and channel plans with a focus on value creation.
The Commercial Planning Manager reports into the Head of Commercial Planning and is a key role in the execution of commercial planning in the Consumer Business Unit connecting the market performance and DB to our channel plans through our channel strategy, commercial frameworks and plans.

Who you are:
You are strong commercially with a clear understanding on how the business works supporting the development of a commercial framework that can provide insight in performance supporting the delivery of the commitments within our plans.
You can work collaboratively with the teams with an intention to detail providing trust & confidence to the business around you.
We will always strive to improve & evolve the role to add value in delivery of the commitments of the Consumer Planning team.
You are a data and insight-led commercial lead, with a balance of analytical rigor, commercial grounding, and an ability to energise others around you.

Essence of Role – Key Accountabilities:

Leadership and teamwork
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong influencing skills, comfortable presenting to all levels.
Needs to be able to shape our channel plans using our commercial frameworks to drive performance to deliver it.
Needs to be able to influence without line authority – on occasion to provoke and agitate the channel to evolve existing commercial frameworks to deliver better outcomes.
Demonstrates a deep understanding of channels & channel performance supporting the delivery of a strategy that maximises their market opportunity
‘All-in’ ownership of Channel Planning outcomes along with the Head of Commercial Planning.


P&L, Channel Strategy & Performance management
Provide detailed analysis of market trends, performance metrics, and competitive insights to inform decision-making allowing Vodafone to win vs competitors.
In partnership with the Head of Commercial Planning and commercial leads across segment, you will shape an ambitious channel plan that delivers against Market share goals
Support the development and delivery of channel plans, retail/franchise KPIs, and incentive programs to drive execution.
In partnership with the Head of Commercial Planning, you will create Commercial targets that stretch performance and motivate channel teams to deliver growth ambition.
Monitor & track commercial performance against the DB and work with the Head of Commercial Planning to recommend areas for course correction.
Create a Value & Volume commercial framework for the Trading meetings supporting enhanced performance management.
Partner with our commercial leads in our journey to define ARPU growth agenda via IBRO.


Commercial leadership
Support the Head of Commercial Planning in driving key operational processes, including DB planning cycles incorporating channel strategy and driving operational efficiency.
Lead the preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance updates, on market and channel performance ensuring actionable insights are delivered to senior stakeholders.

We Are Looking For You, If You Have:

Key experiences:
5+ years of experience in commercial planning, strategy, or a related role, preferably within telecommunications, FMCG, or a similar sector.
Rigorous attention to detail demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and extract actionable insights.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables.
A collaborative and energetic approach to work, with a passion for achieving market-beating performance.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
