Job Description
The Accounting, Reporting & Control team are responsible for the integrity of the reported financial results of Virgin Media O2 (VMO2). We provide clarity, insight and advice to a varied list of internal stakeholders and external shareholders.
The importance of the role performed by the team is significant, ensuring accuracy and compliance across each of the reporting & accounting requirements of VMO2, while focussing on simplification and optimisation of processes across a changing organisation.
As the Financial Accounting Manager, you will support the Accounting team in ensuring the timely, complete and accurate delivery of the results of VMO2. This will involve the oversight and review of results produced by Liberty Shared Services (LSS), for onward delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
You will partner closely with LSS and have oversight of complex accounting process, enabling the accurate reporting of financial results, as well as contribute to the development of and ongoing operation of new review processes to aid in the oversight of VMO2 financial results produced by LSS. You will support the Accounting team to drive change and standardisation across finance processes to realise synergies and efficiencies/transform month-end activities across VMO2.
As the need arises you will also have the opportunity to assist the Accounting team with special projects, ensuring the delivery of effective accounting processes with a focus on simplification and standardisation.
Efficiency gains through change are vital to the success of the team, the successful candidate must be prepared to adapt to change and new demands whilst maintaining a consistent and steady output throughout.

The must haves
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent experience, with a strong accounting background.
- Knowledge and understanding of IFRS (US GAAP is a plus but not crucial).
- Experience of simultaneously managing complex and interconnected processes in a fast-paced finance function
- Articulate with strong communication skills and the ability to liaise, negotiate with, and influence a wide range of stakeholders across all levels and business areas
- Proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements
