What you’ll be doing...
Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 1-2025.
Verizon is modernizing our core networks to enable new, groundbreaking products and technologies. These networks leverage virtualization and software defined networking and will transform how we provide products and service, and maintain our position as the industry leader. As part of this team, you will play a meaningful role in our network transformation through building a unified network across all lines of business and maintaining the technology that keeps millions of our customers connected.
Operating the best VoIP platforms, networks, and systems through the technical expertise of the team and effective outage prevention/resolution.
Becoming an expert on Consumer VoIP, Enterprise VoIP, IP Toll-free, and IP Interactive Voice Response.
Examining problems that occur in complex SIP and cloud based telephony systems which have no clear indicator of cause and solve them by approaching Verizon platforms as an end-to-end system.
Negotiating and coordinating overall project schedules for platform activities, FOA start, and completion dates.
Identifying, monitoring, reporting, escalating, and resolving technical issues encountered throughout change of software, hardware, and configurations.
Participating in Engineering and Planning activities with Maintenance Engineering, Product Development and Product Planning to support both existing and new functionality as business requirements evolve and advance the interests of Verizon’s customers and operational support.
Negotiating, coordinating, and driving completion of project milestones with all appropriate stakeholders.
Facilitating and maintaining relationships with multiple service vendors, including pricing compliance, standards creation and compliance, and conducting quality reviews.
Ensuring cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to without adverse effect to computer environments or to business operations.
What we’re looking for...
You must be detail-oriented, think critically to solve issues in real-time and focus on maximizing customer uptime and minimizing impact.
You’ll need to have:
Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 1-2025.
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Telecommunications industry experience.
Knowledge of SIP.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems Management, or any STEM-based degree.
Organizational and leadership skills to push all projects to completion using conflict resolution/facilitation/solution-driven analysis.
Ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
Communication and project methodology skills in combination with technical experience in telecom network engineering.
Empirix and IntelliSight or Infinistream and analytic expertise. Netscout (Tektronix / Geoprobe) Infinistream and analytic expertise.

Where you’ll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
