The Global Supply Chain Supply Planning Consultant will be responsible for day to day financial results/tracking, and overall analytics for the Planning team. Specific functions include Inventory & purchase forecasting, review & interpret sales forecasts, track weekly changes, vendor management and collaboration with internal partners like Device Marketing, Corporate finance and Planning counterparts. You will need to interpret upcoming marketing shifts and anticipate their impacts. The ability to interpret data, make decisions and implement change will be essential.
You will be asked to identify areas of opportunity, as well as create and implement solutions that drive benefits to Verizon. You should be able to demonstrate successes driving cross-functional process improvement. You will be the catalyst for driving continuous improvement while leading the day to day operations.
Developing and delivering monthly inventory financial reports, including projected balances, purchases, and payments, tailored to specific stakeholder needs.
Conducting variance analysis by comparing actual results as well as new forecasts to previously reported plans or targets
Analyzing inputs into the predictive model and suggest changes to refine forecast accuracy as well as process improvements such as historical ship-to-deliver timing, NPI timing, daily sales distribution, etc.
Creating and managing the monthly inventory overstock and obsolescence reporting for inventory accounting.
Analyzing and maintaining 1-5 year demand forecasts for assigned product categories, understanding market trends, sales data, and promotional activities.
Cross Functional collaboration with Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Planning teams to finalize monthly inputs into Verizon’s S&OP process on a very strict timeline.
Performing scenario analysis on an ad hoc basis per leadership request to help drive decision making.
Maintaining historical reporting on category level Supply Chain operational & financial metrics to be used for supplier finding validations and analysis.
Developing internal controls to ensure execution is on track with the financial estimates and calling out risk when there are material deviations.
Maintaining and updating SKU setup information to ensure IBP is accurate for reporting as well as assisting in system upgrade validation and enhancements.
What we’re looking for…
You'll need to have:
Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Supply Chain Experience.
Supply Planning Experience.
Vendor Management Experience.
Experience with SAP IBP & Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in Collaborative Planning Forecasting & Replenishment (CPFR) processes.
Demonstrated ability to manage inventory improvement initiatives with a focus in Supply Planning, Inventory Optimization, CPFR processes, and S&OP processes.
Ability to be a strong problem solver with ability to resolve conflicts, assertive, good in both written and oral communications with ability to create and deliver executive presentations.
Ability to apply advanced analytic techniques such as optimization, simulation, data mining and statistics to design, implement, validate and refine mathematical models and algorithms to understand and optimize supply chain.
