What you’ll be doing...
As the Associate Director responsible for budget oversight, personnel and vendor management, overall strategic direction, work plan execution and compliance. You will be leading multiple teams of highly capable equipment field engineers responsible for engineering the installation of Domestic US Core Networks; Intelligent Edge Network (IEN), Unified Transport, Voice, Video and Data, Public IP, Private IP and Internal Data Core networks across a broad geography. Candidates will also lead the team in the issuance of required Engineering documentation and management throughout each project’s lifecycle – building the technologies associated with Verizon’s Core Inside Plant networks.
Developing and leading teams of people leaders, engineers and vendors/contractors.
Manage multiple projects and associated budgets, provide timely reporting, and effectively coordinate with Planning, Vendor Technical Management, and Program Management organizations as well as third party engineering and installation service providers.
Ensuring compliance with Codes and federal requirements with all applicable installation practices, such as IP72202.
Engineer detailed, often complex, network builds for new and existing technologies and order equipment/cables/hardware.
Engineer/manage database (ICON, CoFEE, CCP, etc) updates, equipment configurations, card/port assignments/requirements, power mapping, cable running lists, floor space and rack placement, and detailed Bill of Material (BOM)
Interface with Operations and other Implementation organizations to obtain critical pre-engineering information, including site specific data required to preclude installation roadblocks.
Coordinate and drive Engineering and Installation issues to resolution, up through and including all field changes are captured via engineering document redlines.
Ensure that all engineering documentation (including ICON, Venue and CoFEE) is accurate and up-to-date for use in Install, Test, Implementation, Operations, Provisioning, Planning, Network Capacity Management, and Audit groups.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience being in a leadership position.
Experience in Telecom Engineering and Network Implementation.
Valid driver's license.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Experience in Field Engineering and/or Operations leadership with understanding of Central Office/IOF network.
Ability to develop and lead cross functional, hybrid teams to meet or exceed objectives.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
Solid understanding of telecom networking, networks and technologies, equipment designs and configurations procedures, and inventory.
Experience in effectively governing SOW, third party vendors and/or T&M contractors.
Demonstrate ability to be effective in a high-volume, fast-paced, changing environment.
Working knowledge of ICON, SITEVU, Venue, CCP, CoFEE, VendorLink, nSAP, vSAP and SRM as well as expense and/or capital budgets.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $126,000.00 and $234,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
