As a transaction analyst at Vattenfall, you will contribute to creating a sustainable future for generations to come. As a member of the Transaction Analysis team, your responsibilities will include collaborating with colleagues across the company to provide analysis and advice to senior management (e.g CEO) in order to make the risk/reward balance of business proposals transparent, strengthen business cases where possible and support Vattenfall’s strategy in enabling fossil free living.

Transaction Analysis, a part of Risk Management, is an international and experienced team which is engaged across all Vattenfall countries. The role offers you the unique combination of being involved in strategic group decisions and working in close proximity to Vattenfall’s main commercial activities.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide senior management with independent analysis and advice on major business decisions, with a focus on risk reward balance;

• Review investment/divestment proposals, new products and complex structured deals throughout the Vattenfall Group (e.g. wind farms, e-mobility, hydrogen, decentralised energy, commodity derivatives) to examine robustness of the proposal and potential dependencies/impact:

  • Identify risks to key value drivers (e.g. operational, market, commercial, reputational, regulatory);
  • Aim to enhance proposals from a (portfolio) risk mitigation perspective;
  • Verify valuation and financial models to assess the economic viability of proposals; o Review key contracts and ensure consistency with valuation and commercial aims;
  • Submit reports including advice and recommendations to decision-makers at the most senior level of the organisation.
  • Engage and discuss business proposals with project teams and relevant staff functions (e.g. Finance, Legal), both challenge and support the business through constructive feedback.
  • Participate in Value Assurance Review workshops to support the project organisation in assessing the readiness of their largest investment projects.

Qualifications

As a Transaction Analyst you recognise yourself in the following qualifications:

• University degree in engineering, science, finance or other relevant subject;

• Minimum 4 years of work experience in a relevant role. Knowledge of energy markets, energy value chain and project/asset management are an advantage;

• Highly numerate with a strong commercial interest in order to develop an understanding of complex business proposals;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Swedish, German and/or Dutch language skills are an advantage.

We are looking for an analyst/advisor with a curious and critical mind. You are enthusiastic with a willingness to learn, behave as team player and strive for continuous improvement. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to build/manage relationships colleagues across departments.
