Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Offshore O&M Delivery team for the to be constructed Hollandse Kust Zuid windfarm in the Netherlands. The role will involve managing a team of Service Leaders and Technicians conducting operation and maintenance of the offshore windfarm.

The role will be influencing Vattenfall’s best interest with our wind turbine supplier and stakeholders to maximise and develop business efficiencies. As part of the role, you will provide in depth knowledge on O&M Delivery and interaction with our key suppliers. You will also have the opportunity to develop as a leader in our organisation.

The Hollandse Kust Zuid Offshore Windfarm will be located in the Dutch part of the North Sea 18 km off the coast between Den Haag and Zandvoort. Construction has started over the course of 2021 and the windfarm is to be fully operational mid-2023. It is comprised of 140 Siemens Gamesa 11 MW turbines and two offshore substations and will be serviced from a purpose-built service facility in IJmuiden. What will you do?
The role of the Site Manager is to be responsible for all tasks at site and to manage that the project succeed with the resources required at site. You are responsible for delivering the agreed results for site and act independently.

You will have direct reports of around 15 employees, all based in the IJmuiden service building but working offshore and you will be reporting to the Head of Operations, NL.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Managing the operational and technical performance of the Offshore Wind farm;
  • Monitor, analyse and manage the operational and HSE performance of the wind farm including the performance of all contractors;
  • Ensure a safe workplace for all in corporation with HSE advisors;
  • Managing the local site O&M staff and any other associated personnel;
  • Manage the technical resolution of failures of equipment and performance of plant, drawing on support from the wider Vattenfall team;
  • Control all activities on site with the support of the Head of Operations;
  • Understand and manage the key contractual agreements with all contractors by attending monthly meetings and stakeholder engagement activities;
  • Support and develop the team to execute the planning of works and parts ordering in SAP;
  • Manage and develop the technical and operational capabilities of the personnel in your team, including performance and development dialogues.


Location
IJmuiden, The Netherlands. The wind farm will be serviced with daily departures from the site office. This means the home base for the service teams will be the IJmuiden site facility and teams will go offshore every morning using a Crew Transfer Vessel and come back to port at the end of the working day. Flexibility is required, especially during start-up and training.

Qualifications

Who are you?
A flexible, self-motivated and organised individual with the ability to work on their own, willing to travel and share knowledge and experiences across the organisation.

Next to this you bring:

  • Experience in planning and execution and directing and coaching personnel;
  • Experience in contract management and negotiation skills;
  • Must be fluent in English and Dutch, both verbally and written;
  • Located within reasonable (max 60 min) commuting distance from IJmuiden.
