Market Insights is looking for an experienced Senior Strategy Advisor

Strategy & Business Development
Market Insights is part of Group Strategy & Business Development (S&BD).
The main deliverable of the Market Insights team is Long-Term Market Outlook (LTMO), a scenario-based framework for power price development, which is used throughout Vattenfall for strategic decision making and asset valuation. With the LTMO, market, political and societal trends are translated into scenarios and ultimately into insights suitable for strategic decision making and testing business opportunities.

As a Senior Strategy Advisor, you are an experienced economic expert in the field of the European power markets, with expertise in scenario development, leading various economic and political market analyses, and fundamental power market modeling.This will be a perfect chance to live your affinity for economic analyses, to drive insightful analyses and to improve Vattenfall’s understanding of the future electricity system. And you will have the possibility to work closely with stakeholders on different levels across Vattenfall.

What will you do?

  • Leading energy economic analyses in the context of the LTMO by creating a view on key European power market drivers such as renewables, flexibility, market design and capacity build out;
  • Leading scenario design and modelling, performing and driving fundamental economic and political analysis, and providing strategic insights to our corporate strategy process as well as our strategic external positioning;
  • You will work close with the business Director Market Insights, and our Product Owners “LTMO” and our Product Owner Digital Transformation & Data Analytics.

Qualifications

Who are you?
As a Senior Strategy Advisor you must have at least 5 years of experience at an energy company, financial institution or other knowledge-focused firm or institution; experience with energy markets and market design.

  • Academic degree in (Energy) Economics, Econometrics, Business or similar;
  • Profound analytical skills. Demonstrated success in scenario modelling affinity with data, leading and driving economic analysis and fundamental modelling in a team-oriented environments, with a self-starting and entrepreneurial mindset;
  • Affinity and proven interest in political and regulatory developments driving the European energy transition;
  • Good interpersonal and liaising skills. Good leaderships and communication skills, a compelling storyteller, comfortable in addressing executive management, topical experts and stakeholders with different backgrounds;
  • Advanced in English, both verbally, visually and in writing; command of, German or Dutch is a plus.

Our offer
The height of your salary is based on your education and relevant work experience. The salary for this position ranges from €5.500,- to €7.000,- based on 38 hours. In addition to your salary, we offer a comprehensive secondary benefits package, the most important components of which are:

  • End of year bonus of 4.5% of your annual salary;
  • A profit sharing of up to 3.5% of your annual salary based on the results of Vattenfall Netherlands;
  • NS Business card for commuting or a travel allowance of €0.23 per km up to a maximum of 50 km one way;
  • 25 vacation days, 2.5 vitality days, and for a 40-hour contract: 13 ADV (reduction of working hours) days;
  • Choice budget, which allows you to purchase or sell extra vacation days, buy a e-bicycle, or simply receive it as addition pay;
  • Education budget, because we believe it is important that you can continue to develop yourself.
