Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like solar PV and batteries. Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our solar PV and battery operations further.

Job Description

We are looking for a Marine Lead/Senior Marine Lead for the Offshore Logistics team in Generation (O&M). Our department is broadly involved in all maritime aspects of operation of our windfarms, and to complement the team we are looking for someone with expertise within offshore marine operations. Your role will be to act as the expert on the operational side of the offshore marine operations and as technical expert on vessel requirements. This means that you will be involved in all aspects of this, such as development of new solutions, contracting, and auditing of vessels and suppliers.

As mentioned you will be part of the Offshore Logistics team, which resides within Offshore Wind Generation. We are a team that today consists of 7 colleagues, working on maritime and aviation topics relevant for our operating windfarms including those to come.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Subject matter expert on offshore marine operations
  • Subject matter expert on technical requirements for offshore vessels
  • Participation in tendering activities relating to vessels
  • Vessel and supplier auditing
  • Advise on marine infrastructure and operations
  • Ownership and maintenance of technical requirements
  • Participate in supplier interactions in close liaison with internal stakeholders

Qualifications

Your profile:

  • A bachelor or masters degree in a relevant discipline such as e.g. Marine Engineer, Master Mariner or Naval Architect with professional experience
  • 5-10 years relevant experience working in a Marine & Offshore Logistics field, preferably within the offshore wind sector.
  • Expert in offshore marine operations
  • Preferably experience with different types of offshore wind service vessels such as Crew Transfer Vessels (CTV’s) and Service Operation Vessels (SOV)
  • Strong understanding of vessel regulatory requirements, design and performance.
  • Knowledge of maritime regulation, certification, surveys and audits.
  • Persuasive communication skills, comfortable at presenting, building relationships and influencing others, while working effectively across diverse cultures and geographical locations.
  • Hold, or able to complete, GWO mandatory offshore basic health and safety training.
  • Good computer skills (MS) and previous experience with SAP and electrical knowledge are beneficial; and
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking).

Location:

The Offshore Logistics team is spread across four different offices in Northern Europe. Therefore we are open to applications based in our main locations; Kolding (DK), Amsterdam (NL), Hamburg (DE) or London (UK).

We do offer the flexibility of working remotely, but expect you to live close enough to your location of choice to be able to be in the office on a daily basis if required.

This position is primarily office based, however some travel in relation to vessel inspection and site visits is to be expected.
