Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind and Solar PV & Battery activities. Today we develop, construct and operate wind & solar generation in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, the Netherlands and United Kingdom.

We are working on Dan Tysk / Sandbank (DTSB) - which is operated from our office in Hamburg, Germany. In order to make sure that we have a safe operation of this wind park we have set up an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team where we need internal resource to our H&S team, that you will be part of.

Your tasks and responsibilities

As O&M H&S Specialist you provide independent, authoritative advice, support & assistance to the line organization covering the function of Health and Safety. Quite an important role, when you look at the safety of our offshore teams.
To ensure the company meets its statutory obligations and achieve operational excellence, you will implement Vattenfall procedures and good practice in order to achieve high site safety performance.

This job shall be on Offshore Accommodation Platform (OAP) or Service Operation Vessel (SOV) in the German Nordsea. At times travel to other Vattenfall Offshore Wind Farms and office locations throughout Europe may be required.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Facilitate HIRA/HAZOP and support the development of Risk Assessments / Method Statements;
  • Monitor compliance on safety controls agreed to reduce the risk of the activities;
  • Assess contractor HSE plans, performance and compliance to Vattenfall requirements;
  • Report and investigate incidents, ensure close out of actions and implement learnings;
  • Support the behavior based safety program and critical control management program and coach site personnel in safety awareness;
  • Keep in close contact to offshore crews and the O&M managers when it comes to the planning;
  • Work together in the health and safety team and improve our performance in general by standardizing working methods across all offshore wind farms in Europe.

Qualifications

Your profile

We are looking for a pro-active H&S Specialist, who is able to focus on both people and business and has demonstrable experience in coaching teams in challenging environments. Experience with Offshore Wind O&M operations would be preferred, where affinity with the offshore wind sector is a must.

In this you have the following qualifications:

  • MVK / NEBOSH / IOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent)
  • Familiar with safety management system in compliance with ISO45001
  • Experience managing contractors as client and/or principal contractor
  • Experience in auditing and in incident investigation
  • Familiar with behavior based safety programs
  • A professional level of German and English, both verbally and written
  • You recognize the skills of being open, positive, solution oriented, objective and collaborative as your key strengths.

Location
You will be based on the Offshore Accommodation Platform (OAP) or on our Service Operation Vessel (SOV) in the German Nordsea during rotation (2 weeks on duty and 2 weeks off duty). Crew changes will be done from the harbor of Esbjerg, Denmark. You will need to be flexible and travelling will be necessary on a regular basis.
