For the Asset Value Controlling department within Business Area Customers & Solutions, we are looking for a talented and ambitious Investment Analyst

Your responsibilities as an Investment Analyst:

  • Deliver independent views on the strength of business cases for low-carbon district heating and customer & solution projects. You will support projects in the Netherlands, UK, and Sweden.
  • Support deal and project teams by providing steering and guidance on key commercial issues and value enhancement opportunities.
  • Collaborate on the valuation work and financial analysis of a small group of analysts, promoting a good team spirit and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage the development of financial models to support Final Investment Decisions.
  • Design and implement initiatives to improve commercial processes and positions, working with Strategy and Commercial colleagues as well as Asset Management.
  • Provide input to special opportunities as they arise, e.g. project bids, M&A transactions, development of new business lines, funding structures for projects.

The organisation you will be working in:
Asset Value Controlling is responsible for setting functional objectives and directives to ensure quality and uniformity for project-valuations across the BA. Hence, by taking part in the Valuation Team, quality assurance will be an integral part of your work throughout the project life span.

You will participate in continuous improvement projects, such as: the development of in-house models; best practice sharing and developing quality standards. This in order to maintain high quality and uniformity in our deliverables and communication.

The role gives a lot degrees of freedom to focus on topics that you believe are important. The international team and the BA wide scope gives you an excellent view on all initiatives ongoing within the business.

Qualifications

Who are you?
As an Investment Analyst you will have an academic degree within an relevant area (Economics/Finance and/or Physics/Engineering/Mathematics) we would like you to have;

  • Excellent financial modelling and Excel skills;
  • Understanding of Financial Theory;
  • Strong business acumen;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English;
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in valuation, financial modelling or related.

Besides these hard qualifications, we're also looking for a professional who will fit within our team and Vattenfall as an organisation with the following skills;

  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing (in English);
