About the role

The Service Development Analyst role is dual-focused, requiring both a data-driven mindset and a proactive, innovative approach. You’ll support the Service Development team and wider VDI department in improving the quality and scope of data within the Valpak packaging database, while also identifying and delivering new services and process improvements.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and developing ideas into tangible outcomes. You’ll need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams.

What will I be doing?

Working within the Service Development team, you will:

  • Analyse the packaging database to identify gaps and opportunities for new services
  • Collaborate across teams to expand the use of EPIC data beyond compliance
  • Become proficient in internal systems for data input and weight analysis
  • Identify and implement automation and process improvements
  • Support the introduction of new programming tools and services for upcoming regulations
  • Interrogate data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legislation
  • Develop and deliver internal projects from concept to service launch
  • Use data analysis tools to identify trends and support continuous improvement

What we need from you

  • Advanced Excel skills, with confidence handling large datasets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven experience in an analytical role
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent), with a numerical/scientific A-Level or higher
  • Interest in environmental issues (desirable)
  • Familiarity with VBA and Power Query (desirable)
