Job Description

Unmind is on a mission to unlock human potential in organisations around the world.

Work should be good for our mental health, and when people flourish at work, the impact extends beyond the office - enriching their personal lives and ultimately benefiting families, communities, and society as a whole.

We strive to build a workplace that celebrates our differences, where every Unminder feels included, equal, seen and heard. This is true regardless of your age, race, gender identity, religion or belief, marital or parental status, disability, neurodiversity, or sexual orientation.

We’re proud of our culture, but not smug. So if there’s anything we can do to make the hiring process more accessible, just let us know when you apply, or email talent@unmind.com.

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team!

Unmind Talk is a world class digital therapy and coaching platform that enables employees to talk to someone, when they choose - no matter how big or small a challenge they may be facing.

You’ll be joining the Talk Employee product team - responsible for connecting our users to Unmind’s diverse network of practitioners, and supporting each person through their course of care with high-quality tools and user experiences.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Collaborate closely with the team’s Product Manager and Designer as a member of the product-trio - representing technical feasibility in order to solve complex product challenges

  • Lead the team to identify and develop lean technical solutions, guiding the team to find the right balance between technical excellence and shipping value to our users

  • Represent your team’s domain in the wider engineering forums - contributing to shaping our technical roadmap, surfacing and optimising improvements to the developer experience and achieving engineering’s strategic goals

  • Learn from others and share your own skills & perspectives too - we firmly believe that no one is the finished article, and that there should be learning and career development in every role you do.

You should apply if:

We encourage you to remove education from your CV upon application. Qualifications are not a driving factor in our decision making and we are committed to tackling educational inequality.

  • You’ve strong experience using backend technologies (JavaScript/NodeJs) to build APIs, and have some experience working with frontend tech too

  • You’ve collaborated closely with Product Managers to represent the technical feasibility of work and turn requirements into technical solutions

  • You’re product-minded - you love delivering impactful solutions for users and clients, and wield tech debt strategically to help the team ship quickly and make pragmatic tradeoffs

  • You’re comfortable operating in ambiguity (we’re a startup after-all) - remaining open-minded despite uncertainty and viewing change as an exciting opportunity to learn and grow

  • You’ve a passion for teaching others - you’ll have coached or mentored other Engineers, elevating their technical skillsets

You’ll be working with:

We don’t expect you to be an expert in all these, we’re happy to teach you.

  • Go and NodeJs to write our application’s backend code

  • GraphQL to design and query our APIs

  • React (with TypeScript) for our web applications

  • ReactNative (with TypeScript) for our mobile app

Good to know:

We’re a hybrid team - working 1 day a week from our office in Borough (London).
