Job Description

As a UI Designer in our multi-national Ecommerce team, you will have the opportunity to work within one of our Agile teams, delivering high quality interface design that inspires and engages our customers, and supports our market-leading brand. You’ll have a good understanding of travel (to support our portfolio of beach holidays, city breaks, cruises, multi-centres, flights and more) and a strong background in responsive web design.

Please note the closing date for applications is : Sunday 24th November

ABOUT OUR OFFER

  • Personal benefits: Attractive remuneration, bonus opportunity, exclusive travel perks & discounts, extensive health & wellbeing support, and more.
  • Flexible working: Work is something you do, not somewhere you go. We encourage a healthy work-life balance and offer hybrid or remote working models.
  • A career to shape: Opportunities to upskill, reskill and grow your career. Access the TUI Tech Learning Hub to level-up and reach your ambitions.
  • Expand your horizons: Participate in our tech communities and collaborate on global projects and teams.
  • Community: Get involved with incredible local charity and sustainability initiatives like the TUI Care Foundation and the Sustainable Tech Community.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a UI Designer in one of our Agile ‘pods’, you’ll be part of a small, semi-autonomous design team working closely with other Ecommerce disciplines, to deliver great customer experiences for your team’s area of responsibility (which could be a holiday product or a stage in the user journey). Each pod also contains product management, 3 scrum development teams, analysis and optimisation.

Your main responsibilities as a UI Designer are:

UI Design

  • Delivering inspiring and commercially effective pixel-perfect digital interface designs, marrying form with function to deliver an engaging and effective experience across multiple brand styles. You’ll bring creative flair and a pragmatic approach to delivery.

Agile working

  • You will use your Agile experience to align your design process with pod ways of working, and collaborate with the DX Lead and Senior UI Designer in your pod. You’ll own the delivery of your UI tasks, and work closely with the development team to ensure the Pod is delivering the high-quality interface we expect for our customers.

Design System

  • The Design System consists of the styles approved for use across all our brands, the library of UI components already deployed and guidelines for how they should be used.
  • To ensure consistency in the customer’s experience across the TUI portfolio, you’ll understand and work with the guidelines in place in the Design System as the source of approved UI resources, and also contribute new ideas to how the Design System is evolved and updated over time, to address particular design challenges, keep our brands up to date and improve how we deliver content and services to our customers at the front end.

Design Collaboration

  • Alongside your pod team, you’ll be part of wider design communities across the pods – both for design holistically and for UI Design specifically. UI Design is led by the UI Practice Lead, who sits outside the pods, managing the Design System, design standards and processes and the support of individual UI team members.
  • You’ll be an active participant in the community of designers working on all aspects of the websites, providing input and feedback that helps the whole team improve. For example, providing updated designs for styles and components for the Design System.

ABOUT YOU

  • A real team player who will work closely with the colleagues in design and product to support the development of consistent, high quality solutions across digital channels
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates a range of UI design techniques
  • Excellent knowledge of Figma, Sketch and Adobe creative suite and ability to stay up to date with latest technologies, and experience with HTML & CSS
  • Experience working with and contributing to a Design System/styleguide
  • Knowledge of accessible design principles and good practice
  • An organised self-starter who will proactively drive their programme of work, able to think independently and communicate ideas and visual concepts in a clear and coherent manner
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills, to clearly rationalise and defend design approaches when required

From a workplace to a place to belong. At TUI we embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, encouraging everyone to come as you are, because together, our potential is limitless.

We are committed to supporting candidates with disabilities and impairments so if you require any support, please do let us know.
