We are looking for a talented and dedicated leader to join the newly formed Product & Engagement technology organisation which is responsible for all customer facing selling channels.

The Solution Architect is responsible for the digital product architecture landscape of the Product & Engagement selling platforms and plays a key role in shaping our digital product strategy. You collaborate closely with Heads of Product, Heads of Technology and other key stakeholders, and have a shared responsibility for the overall business outcomes for your area. You act as your domain’s spokesperson in senior technical engagements with other domains.

You are an advocate for state-of-the-art modular architecture within the domain and are well-connected within the global digital product community.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • As a Solution Architect, you are responsible for the creation of technology and organisational transformation activities and technology direction with the Domain. In collaboration with technology leaders including the Head of Architecture and other senior architects, you will help shape strategies regarding our digital products to translate business opportunities and customer expectations into innovative IT solutions within Product and Engagement.
  • You will collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders across TUI Group to understand and refine the business requirements and technical enablers for Product & Engagement IT’s digital products - the software solutions that support TUI’s customer engagement and marketing activities.
  • You will have support from a team of Technical Architects to identify and communicate the dependencies and risks that affect the digital products, and work with the appropriate parties to resolve them.
  • You will plan and prioritise the delivery of the digital products based on the business value, the target architecture, and the service strategy adoption.
  • You will create and maintain high-level roadmaps that show the expected outcomes and transformation phases of the digital products and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders and teams.
  • You will work with TUI product representatives to form a joint planning team that supports the above activities.
  • You are a primary member of the global digital product and architecture communities.
  • You maintain a strong understanding of the bigger picture, love to learn and acquire new skills and you enjoy teaching others.
  • You are comfortable leading people but not afraid to get stuck in and work directly with teams – you hate being in an ivory tower.

ABOUT YOU

  • Thought leader in digital transformation practices, active member of global digital product communities.
  • An experienced architect authentic servant leader with passion for technology and business architecture, familiar with cloud technology, design patterns and micro-services.
  • Proven track record in designing architecture blueprints and the optimisation of them to drive development and innovation.
  • Proficiency in translating business vision into viable technical strategies and in conveying such strategies back to business stakeholders.
  • Long term thinker with a strong understanding of business needs and ability to manage a range of priorities and delegate effectively.
  • Experience in working in an agile environment and able to integrate architecture practises in an agile way of working.
  • Great communicator and facilitator comfortable working across organisational and market boundaries and managing senior stakeholders. Able to disagree yet align.
  • Open minded, inquisitive, life-long learner.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, highly autonomous.
  • Enjoys and gets energized by complex business problem solving with an ability to push innovation through technical solutions.
  • Customer centric, passionate about delivering great digital products and services.
