The Supplier Management & Procurement (SM&P) team is a vital part of TUI Airline, optimising value in all aviation contracts. You will be a subject matter expert in the field of CCIS. You are responsible for medium to high value/risk projects and for managing the agreements throughout their life-cycle. You will work cross-category, as needed, ensuring flexibility within the team to cover all workload across the SM&P department. You will have both a coordinating and strategic role, supporting and deputising for the HoP, as well as leading and coaching a team of Procurement Managers and Specialists.

In this role, you’ll report to the Head of Airport Services Procurement.

ABOUT THE JOB

As Senior Manager SM&P, you’ll:

  • Work together with the HoP to shape and implement the team and category strategy. You will lead a team of Procurement Managers and/or Specialists, being responsible for their workload, prioritisation and delivery in conjunction with the HoP. You will nurture and develop team members where required as well as support the HoP from a strategic and stakeholder engagement perspective. You will build relevant subject matter knowledge, as well as gathering market intelligence by analysing market developments – new trends, supplier entry/exists, competitor information, risks etc. looking for, and reporting, innovative business solutions which could be used as opportunities for savings.
  • You will manage the procurement process for medium to high value/risk projects, following the SM&P process and procedures manual, and support and/or review other (procurement) projects, if requested. You will lead procurement process in co-operation with operational stakeholders and work in close co-operation with other SM&P team members as needed. You will evaluate all procurement requests and challenge internal customers and suppliers to provide innovative solutions, performing detailed proposal analysis and comparison. You will manage all activities involved in implementing commercial agreements including the issuance of commercial material to suppliers, as described in the SM&P process and procedures manual.
  • You will manage medium-to-high value/risk contracts through their life cycle from an administrative and commercial point of view, following the SM&P process and procedures manual. You will provide guidance to stakeholders on contractual matters and support ongoing supplier management of contracts and support operational departments in ongoing supplier management of contracts.
  • You will manage escalated contractual claims and disputes (linked to the contracts/suppliers in your remit) between operational departments, support functions and suppliers and obtain adequate resolution, if contractual terms and conditions are not fulfilled. Through the development and management of supplier, you will be able to develop and manage a long-term supplier relationship by reviewing supplier commercial and operational performance and by organizing regular service/performance review meetings with suppliers and business owners. Through the analysis of operational risks for agreements based on market intelligence, business intelligence analysis reports and financial risk reports, you will report if risk level changes/increases and make recommendation for further actions.
  • You will develop and leverage internal networks, in cooperation with SM&P and other TUI Airline colleagues, etc. and external stakeholders (suppliers, etc.), ensuring the best input and output of your scope.
  • You will be required to undertake significant business travel, both for internal purposes and for supplier visits/meetings. You will be able to work from home when not needed in the office or to travel; the mantra is very much that work is something you do, not somewhere you go.
