We are looking for a talented and technical enthusiast to join the Platform Enablers technology organisation which manages all infrastructure (compute both physical as well as virtual, storage and backup, DBs) in our own multiple mission critical non-cloud data centres and in the cloud through well-established partially automated platform processes.

ABOUT THE JOB
- In our Enterprise Operation Center (EOC), you will work in shifts around the clock to ensure the trouble-free operation of our complex IT systems
- You will work in a highly motivated EOC team that proactively observes our system landscape through sophisticated monitoring systems and, if necessary, initiates the necessary steps to keep everything under control. It does not matter whether the systems are located in our data centres, at cloud providers or in the many locations where TUI is present worldwide with its own IT.
- You handle incidents independently and manage escalations. For in-depth technical support, you can access the teams of the specialist departments on call if necessary
- Your tasks also includes to make changes to systems according to specifications so that they run safely and stably. The EOC team is based in Hanover with the possibility of mobile working. The EOC team works for the entire TUI Group IT with internationally distributed specialist department teams
- Support and monitor our applications and services
- Manage IT production on all system platforms and environments used in the data centre
- Monitor and troubleshoot job management jobs and production schedules
- Operate and handle implemented service management systems
- Monitor and eliminate faults in infrastructure systems, such as network and building facilities, for instance data centre power supply and air conditioning
- Monitor security systems (video surveillance, access control)
- Troubleshoot, develop and escalate error situations as well as perform problem tracking
- Create and maintain documentation
ABOUT YOU
- Relevant vocational qualifications, e.g. IT specialist in systems integration or similar knowledge and experience gained on-the-job.
- This knowledge and experience will allow you to identify possible irregularities and, combined with your forward-looking actions, will ensure stable IT operations.
- You have an independent manner of working, pronounced high degree of communication and team working skills as well as a high sense of responsibility, and remain calm, flexible and motivated in times of crisis
- Good to very good spoken and written English
- Willingness to work in 3 shifts
- Relevant work experience in the field of Windows, Unix, Linux, network, storage systems and many other IT environments
- Experience in job scheduling; experience in Automic/UC4 would be an advantage
- Experience in resource and workload management monitoring, preferably CheckMK or Datadog
- Good knowledge of network infrastructure (TCP/IP, VLAN)
- Ideally, knowledge of operating/control consoles in UNIX, Linux, Windows operating system well as database systems, internet services and network structures
- Experience in IT support/service management
