Job Description

Within TUI Group, TUI Airline regroups all airline activities across UK, Nordics, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Morocco, France, and the Dutch Antilles. Customer, Cabin, and Inflight Services (CCIS) is a function within our airline organisation responsible for development and delivery of our Inflight customer proposition. Within CCIS, the Inflight Product & Catering team provides specialist product and culinary development expertise to deliver market leading inflight hospitality.

Your responsibility as Inflight Food Safety Lead will be to maintain oversight of the airline food safety program, ensuring the inflight catering and retail programmes remains compliant with all relevant regulations and standards.

Working together with colleagues across our airline, you will conduct investigations and coordinate third party auditor activities. Additionally, you will provide valuable management reporting to the senior airline leadership team.

In this role, you will report to the Inflight Product Performance Manager, ensuring program performance and compliance is reported on behalf of both the complimentary, crew and Inflight retail food provision. You will be able to contribute the airline internal and technical standards, while being our subject matter expert across a diverse colleague group. The role will maintain global program oversight, across the United Kingdom, Europe, and our global catering partners.

**This role can be based in Luton, Hanover, Stockholm, Rijswijk or Zaventem on a hybrid working basis with a minimum of 2-3 office days per week.**

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Investigate complaints and incidents to determine root causes and preventative actions, supporting food safety standards and initiating product recalls when necessary.
  • Coordinate third-party auditors to oversee catering and retail product suppliers, maintaining technical standards and managing the audit calendar.
  • Analyse data to create performance insights and reports, identifying trends and coordinating performance improvement actions.
  • Oversee internal policies, documentation, and training materials related to food safety, ensuring compliance and recommending policy amendments.
  • Conduct food safety investigations and form recommendations for management review.
  • Collaborate with customer service to investigate complaints and guide responses across airline markets.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and legal departments, and support external communication with third parties and legislative bodies.


ABOUT YOU

  • Level 3 (Intermediate) HACCP certification.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and the wider Office suite for reporting and presentations.
  • Extensive experience in the food sector, specifically in airline catering or high-volume food retail.
  • Lead auditor qualification (ISO 22000 or similar) preferred.
  • Experience managing Quality Management Systems for compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in food safety practices and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ability to coach and train colleagues in food safety and compliance.
