
Stock Controller - 6 Months Fixed Term
Job Description
An opportunity has arisen to become part of an innovative, forward thinking stock control operation within the Best Food logistics team.
As a Stock Controller, you will be joining a small team responsible for maintaining the stock accuracy of fresh, chilled, frozen and ambient products for our growing international client.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday Nights 17:00pm – 01:20am
Repacking and relabelling of product, w/house layout changes/planning, goods receipt query investigation and correction, credit claim investigation, product isolation, batch code checking, dead stock consolidation for disposal/charity usage, poor packaging reporting, product cube data collection and input, outside storage receipt and pallet movement, and general administration duties. Plus, any other stock control or general w/house duties if / and when the need arises.
The successful applicant will be expected to have good communication and interpersonal skills as they will be required to cooperate fully with other departments/depots , liaising with goods in, W/house pick/replenishment teams, purchasing department, BDU and Credit Audit department maintaining a professional and polite `can do` attitude at all times.
In addition, you must also be aware of and comply with all fire safety procedures, including maintaining clear fire exits and escape routes and always conform to all Mechanical Handling Equipment procedures ensuring that all MHE defects/damages are reported. You will work with all team members to ensure that corporate goals are consistently achieved and maintained complying with relevant legislation involved in Food Safety, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
You will be used to working to targets, be computer literate and have an accurate, organised and methodical approach to your work. You must have basic numeracy and literacy skills and be a good team player who supports our company values. Reliability and flexibility are key aspects of this challenging role along with the ability to be able to problem solve under your own initiative, seeking guidance as needed.
Knowledge of w/house management systems, BFL Minster and Voice operational system in particular and/or work in a similar role are of course desirable and a Forklift Truck and/or scissor lift Licence would also be advantageous.

Desirable:
- Some previous stock control experience
- A working knowledge of Logistics and Store operations
- Current FLT reach truck licence
- Educated to GCSE standard
