Job Description
While you will hold a Class 1 contract and driving position, the training element will form a larger percentage of your role. Working 45 hours per week on a five‑from‑seven shift pattern, including some weekend working where required, you will deliver high‑quality Driver CPC and induction training, driving assessments, refresher training and maintain accurate training records. You will also support policy changes, operational risk assessments and safe delivery practice through safety briefs, toolbox talks and improvement initiatives, while contributing to the Driver Academy by preparing colleagues for HGV examinations and providing post‑test coaching and mentoring. Fully funded CPC hours and overtime opportunities are available.
Working closely with Compliance, H&S and DC teams, you will support accident investigations, safe and legal audits and the management of Digi cards, licences, CPC cards and tachograph downloads, as well as infringement training. Essential requirements include a valid Class C+E licence, Driver CPC qualification and recognised instructional or assessor training such as RTITB or NRI, along with experience in delivering driver training, a strong understanding of tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations and the ability to coach and mentor colleagues.

Completing several multi-drop deliveries a day (the amount each day will vary).
Ensuring all paperwork is completed after delivery.
Checks to include your vehicle is in good condition at the start and finish of your working day.
Working autonomously as well as part of the wider transport team.

- Class 1 Licence Holder.
- Driver CPC Holder.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience of multi-drop; temperature controlled food deliveries preferred, but not essential.
- Routes vary daily and therefore successful applicants will need to be flexible in work and hours of work (including at short notice).
- Driver CPC qualification, and recognised instruction or assessor training (such as RTITB, NRI, or equivalent), along with strong knowledge of transport legislation and safe‑operating standards.
