Job Description

We are on a quest for extraordinary individuals who are mission-driven and aspire to create a profound and positive impact in the world by addressing the skills crisis. Our dazzle of zebras is a force to be reckoned with - they possess unwavering determination, take decisive action, push boundaries with innovative ideas, and thrive in an environment that offers autonomy, trust, and accountability to deliver exceptional outcomes.

The skills crisis is a colossal challenge, one that is expected to have a greater economic impact than the COVID-19 pandemic. The shortage of skilled workers is leaving millions of positions unfilled, and this crisis has been deemed by the World Economic Forum as one of the biggest challenges of our time, second only to climate change.

The world’s largest companies are transforming into skills-based organisations to survive, but most are struggling to do so without the proper tools. That's where we come in - we have built an innovative platform for workforce management that empowers companies to make skill-based decisions and thrive.

Our existing clients have already witnessed the positive impact that skill-based decision-making has on organisational performance, diversity, culture, and management insight. We have several FTSE100 customers and have recently secured £7.7 million in Series A funding.

We are now assembling the right team to help us become the leader in the multi-billion dollar skill-based workforce planning market. Our mission is clear and ambitious - we will unite 10 million people with opportunities at the world’s leading employers based on skills by 2030. In doing so, we will be driving a quarter of all people-decisions and will be making a significant contribution towards solving the skills crisis. We’d love you to join us and make a difference that will shape the future for generations to come!

The Challenge

The ultimate aim is to build a fantastic experience that meets the needs of our users. Of course, a significant part of the fun will be figuring out exactly what those user needs are, ensuring we can build fast and learn fast.

The Team

Reporting into the Head of Product, you will co-lead a cross-functional product team that is globally distributed. You’ll also get to work closely with other stakeholders across the business, including management, commercial and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own a key product area with your product management and engineering counterparts, working closely with the Head of Product to develop our overall vision and strategy.
  • Shape a vision for your product area that aligns with our overall vision, inspiring your team in building towards it.
  • Discover, validate and communicate real needs of users using a mix of qualitative user research (tactical and strategic) and quantitative data.
  • Facilitate innovation, working closely with product management, engineering and commercial functions.
  • Design smart UX and UI solutions and work closely with engineering peers to ensure feasibility and smooth implementation.
  • Be accountable for the user experience of your area.
  • Co-own and develop our design system as a senior member of the Design team.
  • Actively engage and communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Know the HR industry, the competitive landscape and our company strategy.

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience designing functional, complex web-based digital products.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered, iterative design thinking methodologies.
  • Experience designing and shipping innovative products throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Comfortable leading the discovery phase of projects, from problem definition to solution exploration.
  • Enjoys collaborative work within multi-disciplinary product teams.
  • Skilled in planning, conducting, and synthesising user research (independently for tactical, with support for strategic).
  • Proficient in solving specific interaction design challenges and shaping end-to-end user journeys.
  • Capable of articulating design decisions based on user needs and business requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate user research into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation in problem-solving.
  • Experience shaping, maintaining, and expanding design systems.
  • Able to navigate and make decisions in ambiguous or evolving situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable

  • Previous experience designing B2B products for professional users.
  • Background in HR Tech.
  • Thrives in fast-paced start-up environments.
