The Role
At ScreenCloud, we're committed to delivering high-quality software that meets our customers' needs. As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our products, particularly our Player applications. Working under the guidance of Senior QAs, you'll be instrumental in improving the quality of our software before release and investigating customer-reported issues.
Your primary focus will be on our Players - native applications designed to launch our web player on various hardware devices. This includes our flagship SCOS product (ScreenCloud's own hardware device), as well as native apps for Android, Windows, LG, and Samsung Tizen. Additionally, you may be called upon to assist with testing our Studio CMS. Your keen eye for detail and analytical skills will be vital in identifying, recreating, and narrowing down bug reports to their core issues.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough testing of Player applications across multiple platforms (SCOS, Android, Windows, LG, Samsung Tizen)
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure comprehensive coverage
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand new features and ensure they meet quality standards
- Investigate and recreate bug reports from customers, narrowing down test cases to the smallest possible scenario
- Perform regression testing to ensure new changes don't negatively impact existing functionality
- Document test results, bug reports, and test procedures clearly and concisely
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies
- Work closely with the development team to ensure quick turnaround on bug fixes and retesting
Requirements
- Previous experience in software testing and quality assurance
- Understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Experience with manual and automated testing techniques
- Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools
- Basic understanding of web technologies and client-server architectures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex issues
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in an agile development environment
Bonus Skills
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g., JavaScript, Python) is beneficial for test automation
- Experience with performance testing and optimization
- Understanding of accessibility testing principles
- Familiarity with API testing
- Experience with cloud-based testing environments
- Knowledge of security testing basics
- Experience with usability testing methodologies
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
