What you'll do

We look for motivated and curious students (f/m/d) who want to support us in topics around Cloud Computing and Observability. Core technologies are Kubernetes, OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry and Go as prima programming language. You should not be afraid of taking responsibility to work on tasks and projects independently. Furthermore, you should be willing to familiarize yourself with new topics and technologies.

As a working student (f/m/d) in our team, you will get insights into current cloud technologies, gain experience in dealing with open-source projects and contribute to our projects and PoCs (Proof of Concepts) in the field of observability.

What you bring

Attitude & Background:
- In the first place? An open mind!
- Passion for technical topics and strong will to learn new things
- Student (f/m/d) at a university (of applied sciences) with preferred fields of study: Computer Science or Engineering
- Fluency in German and/or English
Skills & Experiences:
- Higher programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript or Go)
- Modern Software Engineering (incl. version control systems, test-driven development)
Knowledge in some of the following fields is welcome:
- Cloud Computing, Frameworks (Express.js, Kubebuilder)
- Operating Systems (Linux, Bash)
- Container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Data analysis and visualization
- Technology evaluation
- OpenSearch/ElasticSearch

Position would be either from Karlsruhe or from Waldorf

Meet your team

SAP Business Technology Platform is our Platform-as-a-Service offering allowing to manage and develop business cloud applications.

Within our development team we research, develop, and operate services to observe and analyze applications along multiple dimensions, including performance, availability, and robustness. A major starting point is the processing and analysis of application signals (logs, metrics, traces), which constitute a huge and highly relevant data stream.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.

This is a SAP global, strategic, paid working student position that provides students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers.
