Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Manager to join the Commercial team; the Supply Chain Manager will have a holistic, strategic oversight of our supply chain and will drive efficiencies through internal and external collaboration.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing external suppliers, collaborative working, implementing efficient processes, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise the supplier chain management processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Identify continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Stay up to date with market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities, recommending opportunities for business growth.
- Management of our third-party logistics warehouse ensuring orders are picked and despatched within Service Level Agreements and high quality is maintained.
- Management of packaging suppliers and parcel couriers demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and high quality.
- Management of our customer call centre ensuring service is maintained and feedback is acted on.
- Conduct regular supplier evaluations ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Collaborate within the Commercial department, including e-Commerce, Buying and Merchandising and Retail to ensure we are delivering a seamless customer experience.
- Ensure the RSPB is compliant with environmental legislation and that this is communicated within the organisation.
- Drive the improvement of our Commercial systems with the support of digital teams.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the RSPB.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Experience as a Supplier Chain Manager or in a similar role within a commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of supplier chain management principles, best practices, and industry trends.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external suppliers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirement.

This is a Permanent role for 37.5 hours per week.
